Good afternoon from Indiana. I purchased a 2022 GT on October 14th; 14,700 miles, AWD, Extended Range Battery. Love the car. Greatly appreciate this Forum with so many ideas. Thanks to participants.

This is my first thread, so please excuse formatting you'd prefer I use. I'm learning!

I purchased a retractable rear cover from Amazon after some serious research. I can provide Amazon data and photos if desired or considered appropriate.

The self-stick tape attached was unable to keep a grip secure, and I didn't want to use any hardware to puncture the pieces themselves to attach the anchoring pieces to the sides of the rear compartment.

I used 2" inch wide strong black velcro that I trimmed to fit, to attach the anchoring pieces provided by the manufacturer to each side of the rear compartment. The top sides of the anchoring pieces were covered nicely by lifting the inside edge of the rubber insulation that provides protection and sealing between the body and the lift door.

Works really well, rock solid attachment process that looks great. 2" inch wide velcro (one roll is black, the other is white) is in my tool box along with my rolls of different colored duct tape; this was my latest use of it.

Photos showing your work in relation to your post would be welcome! :)

To my surprise, I just went to Amazon to screen shot the product, and I see it’s “currently unavailable” … I got it for $69.99 plus tax, and that was a terrific price compared to other similar products.

But the most important positive was to use the strong 2” Velcro to make it stick to the sidewalls AND flip the top of the weather seal over the top edge for a good finished appearance.

Hoping this is helpful and encouraging as my “previously owned” GT did not have a cover for the rear area (or a removable sun shade on the lift gate window) to give some privacy back there.

I don’t get why ford wouldn’t make that part as a OEM option for our vehicles. This is the gold standard in creating trunk privacy and in buffering some noise. The piece of cloth is an under-engineered solution and doesn’t work.
