Recalibrate backup sensor after bumper repair/replace

My backup bumper was damaged slightly. I took it to a body shop for an estimate and they told me that the backup sensors need to be removed from the old bumper and put into the new bumper and then recalibrated. Has anyone had to do that and is that something I can do myself after the repair. One body shop wouldn't give me a quote because they don't work on EVs.

It’s bollocks!

They are proximity sensors.

There’s no calibration.

They are plug & play.

The motor trade scam motorists & insurers all the time for re-programming, calibration & other setup costs.

Entirely different from the body-mounted RADAR sensors if fitted inside the sides of bumpers (not mounted to bumpers) and other ADAS sensors etc around a car.

Thanks for the response. I've gotten that from one body shop that's associated with Ford. Two other ones have not said anything about it so that's why I wanted to check it out.
