The last couple of months I've started to hear a creaking sound inside the right side wheel well behind the tire. I can only hear it while parked and turning the wheel or going slow in reverse and turning the wheel. It's louder inside the cabin but when I step outside and listen near the tire it's much quieter. I assume the cabin is amplifying the sound. It's not a squeal or thump, but rather a creaking sound.

The sound is not heard when going over any bumps or dips and I can't hear it when driving, but I suspect that is because the road noise drowns it out.

I am due for my 16,000km tire rotation and will ask the service station at that time, but I am curious if anyone might know the cause of this?

Front or rear? Does it change when using the brakes? ??

OK, so not moving it will make the noise? Sounds like the culprit is either a tie rod end or a ball joint to me, possibly an anti-sway bar end link. ??

Yep, not moving it makes the sound. Almost sounds like squeaky rubber. Weirdest thing. Thanks agian!

Did you ever get this looked at? I have exactly the same sound at low speeds, or going over speedbumps.
