Ive had my Route One for a week and have topped it off once and charged it fully a second time, both times it only charges to 270 miles. Not sure what gives. I thought it had a fully charged range of 305?

It shows approximate estimate milage based on previous driving. Try driving 50 miles no faster then 35 mph with one pedal driving and don't use breaks - you'll see that number growing actually

You are seeing the range estimator, it adjusts based on your driving, predicts what you will get. It tends to be pretty conservative in its estimates.

There a ton of threads on this already but, basically, multiply the miles per kWh you are seeing times 88 kWh (your battery’s capacity) to get a truer sense of your max range based on driving at any given time.

First off, congratulations on taking delivery of your MME!

The car's range according to the GOM (Guess O Meter) will adjust to your driving habits after 500-1000ish miles. It also doesn't help that we're starting to get that dreaded chill in the air that makes batteries not happy; I've noticed a drop in GOM range when Scotty has not been plugged in overnight/not in the garage. Hope this helps!

Ok, thanks. I guess its going to take time adjusting to what you see isnt always what youll get.

This is technically true for any car, even an ICE, it’s just much less of an issue with gas stations everywhere.

The key though is this, range doesn’t matter too much if you can charge at home. It matters on road trips. But the range estimator will factor your daily driving, a mix of city and highway.

But BEVs get much less range at high freeway speeds. So even if it eventually predicts 305 for you, if you get on a highway and set cruise control to 80mph, you will get much less than the prediction.

It is not somehow locking/unlocking battery capacity, important to keep that in mind - just a ‘smart’ prediction of range based on driving history.
