Hi Anyone else had any issue with Sat Nav? twice now in 6 months mine has got itself lost mid journey. The first on the way back from Cornwall to Doncaster it was showing as in the Bristol Channel for the last 2 hours of the journey.
The other odd thing on both occasions is that the onboard satnav, and also TomTom, Waze and Google Maps through android auto on my Samsung phone all had the same issue at the same time!
Any help would be appreciated

That sounds like a GPS system problem, not a Ford Nav problem- if all your devices had the same issue at the same time, that's a network outage.

Maybe the Boston Mayor has been trying to enter internet kill codes, but has been thwarted by unknown agents at every turn.

are the other apps correct if/when they are not connected to the car? many/most talk to the car's GPS so having a faulty car GPS will break connected devices too

however if they are both broken without being connected then indeed it is likely the satellite that is wrong

Usually a sync reboot fixes the occasional “Your car is in the Pacific Ocean!” issues that crop up on my car. A key cycle always has fixed it though. TBH, I haven’t had an issue like that in over a year though.

You can pull up the GPS satellites.

First, open up diagnostics by holding volume down and left seek for a few seconds until the screen changes. You can then find the satellites under APIM, one of the options, I don't remember which.

But the first thing I would so is see if GoogleMaps, on its own, not connected to vehicle, shows my location via GPS.

Thanks how do I do the things you suggest?

You can see nav satellite reception in the Navigation app. It's a bit easier and more reliable to access than the diagnostics version.

I had these messed up nav tracking issues like the OP describes for several months late last year to early this year. A visit to the dealer corrected it for me but I'm not sure which specific update(s) they applied were relevant to this issue, since they were updating for other reasons, too.
