Decided to throw this under the general discussion forum to get some other perspectives and thoughts. I'll start by saying I feel I have little/no use for my car driving itself while I am at the wheel. Frankly, I'd be bored. I think of cruise control and in decades of owning cars with that feature, I can count on one hand the amount of times I have used it. I fear that self driving use for my own car may be similar. The technology exists, but I fear it is being implemented in the most difficult and under utilized ways. Driving at high speeds and/or congested byways where the variables are many. The technology, however is very impressive and I am 100% on board with all the safety features the technology can bring. Never let me crash into anything.

So my proposal and wants are like this.
1. Use the technology for all advanced safety functions so that it is virtually impossible for me to be harmed or hard others while driving on public roads.
2. Perfect the robot valet introduced by startup Faraday. This self driving system allows a driver to pull up to the front door of a building, step out and the car will drive around the parking lot looking for a parking space and park. Once owner is ready to exit building, the car will return to the front of building and collect the user. As mentioned, the technology exists, car travel will be at low speeds so any mistakes will likely not result in death or serious injury, would potentially be used daily and be a huge convenience feature.

Just some Friday (the 13th) afternoon thoughts for discussion, what could go wrong....
