Can I limit my charging rate to 90kW? The electrify-Canada charger in Red Deer charges $0.27/min up to 90 kW and $0.57/min from 90 kW up to 350 kW. But my max achieved charging rate was 98kW so I was paying almost twice as much for an extra 8kW.

Ended up paying CAD $11.36including sales tax for 28.kWh in 19min and I’m not unhappy about it but I’d rather pay less if there’s a way.

While it should be possible, it currently isn't.

I've only seen that feature on a couple of EVs. Most people want to DC charge as fast as possible so there's probably not much desire for lowering DC rate outside of these rare pricing situations.

The "per-minute" pricing should effectively be going away sometime soon. It's an illogical construct created to side-step a utility company monopoly on determining energy prices.

Adding such a setting to the car would only pile onto the insanity of that system.

Doesn't lower charge rate give less stress to the battery?

The Mach-E battery already charges pretty slow on DC, I don't think there would be a measurable difference in degradation at slower speeds than now. Not like Teslas which charge the same size battery pack we have at 200+ kW.

Even if you could lower the charge rate, I doubt Electrify Canada would charge you any less. The Electrify America stations that charge per minute base the price on the maximum charge rate the car is capable of, not the charge rate it's drawing.
