Sigh. Looks like they paused the recalls again. I'm never getting the replacement.

23S56 is a go, 23B50 is still stopped. Tell them to check PTS alerts on the homepage regarding 23S56.

Well, I went into the dealer today and instead of hooking up they just connected to their Wi-Fi and thought they were gonna be able to do an over the air update but it’s just like being at my house. There’s nothing available so they did not want to hook up since they don’t have an electric technician yet they suggested maybe I call around to different Ford dealers that have electric technicians, that even happens there on the scene so that’s where I stand

You shouldn't be wasting your time with a Ford dealer that doesn't have an EV technician. My recommendation would be don't go there anymore.

I didn't realize that you had to be an electric technician to use FDRS for an update.

A GWM update procedure is the same for an F150, Escape, Maverick, Mach-E

They’re getting them trained that’s who I bought the car from so other than going over there to visit I’ve got another Ford dealer in town who is a electrician vehicle dealer so I’m gonna go see them the only problem is I’ll have to leave the car for like two days while they hook it up, they said

True. ??

Most dealers are so gun-shy they make their EV techs do much simpler stuff than FDRS updates. I have heard of dealers not letting anyone but their EV-certified tech change wipers on an MME. ?‍♂?

Ford won't pay the dealer for their work if they don't have a technician with the certs. The dealer he went to can't do any warranty work on his car if they don't have an EV tech.

And that's dumb because other non-EV techs can do work on the Mach-E as long as they have an EV tech on site. Having the two certified EV techs is sort of like a site license to do warranty repairs.

Any Ford dealer can update your Mach-E however if you're willing to pay for it yourself.

Is it known why 23B50 is stopped? FWIW, I got 23B50 just before they stopped it, and 600 miles later I have noticed no problems.
Do you ever use 1-pedal mode? If I'm not mistaken 23B50 is one of the updates suspected of causing 1-pedal mode failures.

I guess that explains why a non-EV mobile tech happily applied updates to my car via FDRS under warranty - there must be EV-certified techs back at the service center.

Unfortunately, one of those updates appears to have given me regular 1-pedal drive failures. ?‍♂ Win some and lose some I guess... :/

Yes, I always use one pedal. 23B50 has not caused any failures for me in 600 miles, but I am still kind of fuzzy on whether there's anything I should be concerned about, or if I will need get any software correction for the 23B50 when/if it becomes available.
