we were evacuated this morning at 5:15am... should've charged the car to 100% last night before power was shut down around midnight. but had enough charge to get to in-laws 50miles inland.

the winds and fire is insane and we already know quite a few friends who's homes have burned...it's a brutal start to 2025

Looks like the Eaton Fire in the Crescenta Valley / Altadena.
I live in Ventura County (not evacuated) and the winds last night were the strongest I've ever encountered in the 35 years I've lived there.

Thankfully, I live near LAX about 7 miles south of Pacific Palisades, so no fire here. However, we are getting smoke and some ash. I've been sneezing like crazy all day.

Pacific Palisades is one of the nicest communities in the LA area, in the foothills of the Santa Monica mountains and near the Pacific Ocean. Many homes and businesses have been destroyed and many more will suffer major smoke issues. My best thoughts for everyone impacted by the wildfires.

Haven't hit the evacuate level yet. Just waiting and praying they get this all under control.
