I have my Grizzl-e plugged into a NEMA 14-50 outlet, but still set it to 32 A because I didn't really need it set to the max value. I can confirm that it abides by what you set it to...I checked the wire for my 14-30, its an orange 10/3. I was looking at buying the Grizzl-E, but all of their connections use a 14-50 or 6-50 plugs. I would have to either, replace their plug with a dryer one or buy an adaptor to convert 14-50 to 14-30 and turn down the amps to 24. Has anyone done this with the Grizzl-E?

Also, the plug that it comes with is quite short, so I almost bought a slightly longer 14-50 electric oven plug but eventually made it work with what it came with. If you set the amperage correctly (it will also come preset to what you want if you order it from them directly, they set the DIP switches to what you ask for) I wouldn't have any concerns with swapping to a 14-30 plug or just hardwiring it. Personally I prefer the plug though just because it's slightly easier (if you're not comfortable around hardwiring) to replace in the future if it breaks. Or you can use that dryer buddy thing without modifying the plug it comes with.
