SSM 51957 2021-2022 Mustang Mach-E - Alarm Activation With Motion Sensor Function Disabled

Some 2021-2022 Mustang Mach-E vehicles may experience an alarm activation even after the motion sensor function has been disabled through the pop-up menu at ignition off. If the customer wants to turn off the motion sensors for a key cycle, they can go to the center display screen: Vehicle > Settings > Alarm System > Motion Sensors off. The motion sensors will be re-enabled on the next key cycle. This condition does not affect vehicle durability and no additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition at this time. Inform customers that they can continue to drive the vehicle and engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition that is expected in November 2023. Monitor OASIS for additional information.

----End SSM----

This appears to be an update to SSM 51547 that has moved the ETA date from June to November 2023.

I mean I guess it’s good they are still working on this for ā€˜21-22, so does that mean this isn’t an issue on ā€˜23s?

First, why has it taken this long to implement what should be a relatively simple software fix?

Second, I guaranty you that Ford’s ā€œfixā€ is going to be making the pop up work - not allowing the sensors to be disabled for more than one key cycle. Which is asinine. If you have a setting buried in the menu to turn the sensors off, that setting shouldn’t revert with every key cycle. There are very common use cases for wanting to keep these sensors off, and I shouldn’t have to tap a pop up every time I turn off the car.

Paging @Ford Motor Company

Is this the fabled ā€œpet modeā€?
