Whenever someone asks me about my car I tell them not to consider it for purchase.

The software needs at least 2 years to mature, and OTA is disabled in Europe so you need to beg your dealer or pay up.

I got a first edition and the car just insanely annoying with these simple problems that seemingly never get resolved. And Ford is unable to communicate anything. Mach-E sales in Norway has dried up, and so far this year it's just the 11th most sold EV. ID BUZZ and Nissan Leaf outsell it...

Sigh.

Meh. These are all first world problems. Seriously. Yes, I get annoyed when the profile changes, or something else weird happens. My wife loves it when I lock her in the car and the alarm goes off. But it is a great car, and I would buy it again.

Ok guys, fair warning. I’m about to use a few choice swear words. If you are offended by swear words, please scroll on.

What in the actual FUCK, @Ford Motor Company. This SSM is the definition of GASLIGHTING.

“Ok, so we give you this stupid pop up… that doesn’t work. So instead, all you have to do every time before you turn off your car is go to the center display screen: Vehicle > Settings > Alarm System > Motion Sensors off. It’s that easy! And this will work for one whole key cycle!”

GOD DAMN IT, FORD. THIS IS FUCKING ASININE. STOP GASLIGHTING US AND FIX YOUR PIECE OF SHIT SOFTWARE.
I'm waiting for the "You seem upset, can you please send us your VIN and preferred dealer so we can look into this for you?" reply.

Any issue with a $60k+ electric vehicle is arguably a first world problem. That doesn’t make it right. It especially doesn’t make this SSM right. To suggest going five taps deep into the menu every time you want to turn off the sensors as an effective workaround is a slap in the face.

I have had a problem with this issue one time. My wife didn't have her key and I went into a store, the car autoocked and then the alarm went off because she moved. I thought it was very funny. She was not amused at all. She is also not amused with road trips in my car, because public charging sucks, but that is a different first world problem.

I have worked for a big product company before and fixing these issues isn't as simple as it should be. So many reviews, sign offs, approvals, etc. I agree the SSM is lame, and I can see why you are offended, but it isn't worth getting upset about IMO.

Really there isn't a car I would want over my MME (for $62k) even 1.5 years later, and with all the new competition out there. The competition has their own problems, some much worse than what we are dealing with.

I just roll with it. The product has improved with software updates over the 1.5 years I have owned it. Not this issue, or the headlight switch bug, but other things have gotten better.

Of course! It's very very simple. All you have to do, before turning off the car, is go to Vehicle > Settings > Alarm System > Motion Sensors off. And it will stay off for one whole key cycle! THANK YOU @Ford Motor Company FOR THIS BRILLIANT DESIGN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

God damned assholes. I'm going to start calling Ford on a daily basis. I am going to make it my life's mission to annoy the shit out of them.
If your going to call everyday, can you reiterate to them that #Jimrpa and I are still waiting for our Frunk Release Button!!!

It’s on my list. So is remote starting to guest profile, and no one-tap trunk opening. It would help if we started crowd sourcing these complains.

800-392-3673. Say “Mustang Mach E”. Then “software bugs.” This gets you to in-vehicle technology.

I wish I could leave my almost teenager in the car while I run into buc-cees without the car flipping out. I finally just started leaving him the keys so he can turn the alarm off when it goes off. I don't have small kids so I want the feature permanently disabled. Not re-enabled every damn key cycle.

I can't take my dog with me because of this motion sensor bullshit.
You could leave the car on when you leave the dog inside. If you take your key with you, nobody will be able to put it in drive and you can run the climate control for his/her comfort.

I of course the message answer doesn’t work and I have the same problem with leaving the dog and people in the car for a minute - I have driven electric for 10 years as a daily driver Leaf, Model S and Model 3, and now Mustang for 6 months for a fresh view - not pretty - realistically Ford software issues are worse than embarrassing and to think no fix after all this time despite the happy updates that deliver little, not to mention the low 12v battery issue and lack of dealer understanding …. No excuses for a billion dollar company betting their future on EV…

SSM 51547 2021-2022 Mustang Mach-E - Alarm Activation With Motion Sensor Function Disabled

Some 2021-2022 Mustang Mach-E vehicles may experience an alarm activation even after the motion sensor function has been disabled through the pop-up menu at ignition off. If the customer wants to turn off the motion sensors for a key cycle, they can go to the center display screen: Vehicle > Settings > Alarm System > Motion Sensors off. The motion sensors will be re-enabled on the next key cycle. This condition does not affect vehicle durability and no additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition at this time. Inform customers that they can continue to drive the vehicle and engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition that is expected in June 2023. Monitor OASIS for additional information.

----End SSM----

Well, this has been a bug for a little while...

So does disabling motion sensors on a 2023 actually work?
Maybe my issue is separate from this, but their proposed 'solution' doesn't even work. I've tried everything to keep the alarms from going off on a ferry. But the only solution is to leave the car unlocked or leave it running. Neither of which I want to do..
