I have a new issue that seems to have popped up fairly recently related to the steering wheel heater. Recently the temperature seems to be much lower than it originally was and cools down after 15-20 minutes despite still being set to on.

Here in north Alabama I have only used it sporadically as we’ve had a lot of warmer days so far this fall and early winter but the first couple months or so of using it the steering wheel almost got too hot to the point I needed to turn it off. Now I feel like it’s just warm enough to be “comfortable” but not enough to really warm my hands much and as stated seems to stop being warm after 15-20 minutes.

I tried searching for another thread with a similar issue and did not find anything. Just wondering if this has happened for anyone else and hoping I do not have an issue that might lead to a warranty claim.

I have noticed the same. Previously, I could only have the wheel heated for 10 min or so before I would have to turn it off but now I can make the entire 30 min commute with the heater on and the wheel just doesn't feel very warm.

I figured it was just wearing out due to use (I have almost 60k miles) but now that someone else is having the same symptoms then maybe it's something else?
Hmmmm...???

Hello! Send us a private message with your VIN and the name and location of your local Ford dealer. I’d be happy to see what I can do to assist with this concern. Thanks!

Hi there! If you are able to send over a private message with your VIN and dealership info, I'd be happy to look into things on my end.
