Stop safely light for no apparent reason

Hi folks. New Mach E (about 4 months 5k miles.) This morning when I got into the car after yet another over the air update, I got a stop safely message and the idiot light. It drove as normal, so I decided to drive it to a Ford dealer. When I got there, got out of the car, it locked. When I opened it up again, I decided to try it again, and on start the stop safely light was gone.

I didn't think there was anything to diagnose, and I was not interested in waiting half the day to pull codes. Anyone have anything similar?

There have been instances of the cars throwing an error up on the screen and then self-clearing after a key cycle. The only way to know if your car has a legitimate fault at the time it gives you the idiot light is to have an OBD-II reader and pull the code yourself at the time. Otherwise, if the car is drivable do as you did in driving it a little, turning it off, waiting a little, then turning it back on to see if it self-clears. ??

Next time you see that, do what it says. Then restart and see if it’s still there.
