Stopped in Traffic

Hoping this is a one time event , but wanted to post here to see if anyone else ran into this scenario. Got a call from the Mrs. with this chain of events;
Stopped behind school bus
Attempted to drive
Car did not move
Green light on dash was off (from memory I think this is the Ready light)
Noticed head light was not lit (assuming automatic headlight enabled indicator)
Pressed on brake and hit start button
Car started and was still in Drive
Accelerated as normal


Any similar experiences or cause for concern.
