Strange charging spikes

I’ve recently noticed some strange charging behavior on my Mach E (‘23 Premium Extended AWD). I manage my charging times with a schedule on the car - no schedules set on my charger (ChargePoint HomeFlex). When I look at the activity graph in the ChargePoint, I can see the charging starts at midnight or 1am based on the scheduled times and charges to the set SoC (85%). However, there is a second, brief, spike several hours later. I do not have departure times set and these second spikes do not coincide with any time I would be using the car.

Does anyone have any thoughts on what could be causing the random charging draws?

Yes, I see something like this on my Juicebox charging curve graph. I am a new owner and I don’t know the reason.

Could be the battery warming/cooling itself. Could be you received an update. Could be some of the power was used for communication, bluetooth connections, the cellular modem, The sensors that are always on scanning for PAAK, and the car just wanted to recoup that.

Warming is generally about 15 minutes.

Noticing same thing. Seems to last no more than 5 minutes. I also don’t have any departure times set. Manage the schedule using the charger (Tesla Wall Connector) not the car.
