Sync has never been quick to launch on start-up, but the last few days has been waaay slow. Android Auto takes over as the app in use (as opposed to whatever was running when shutdown) AA then launches the last app it was using. So, AA is running and playing music long before the radio card even appears in the card display.

Also curiously, but perhaps unrelated, the PAAK "Key Not Found" gremlin has come back to visit a few times recently.

This new slownessand weirdness came after recent updates, but I'm wondering if there is any hope of a fix?

I'm currently on OTA PowerUp 2.7.1 and Sync rev 415

Try rebooting sync. Hold seek right snd volume down button until the screen starts it’s reboot. See if that clears some of the sync gremlins out.

WOW That fixed it. The old "reboot it when it doesn't work". Seems more and more like a univeral answer!

Thanks for the how-to tip. I never knew rebooting Sync was a thing.

My sync is slow at startup no matter how many times I reboot or even master reset. Also, every several starts it goes to a white partially loaded radio screen even though not on full time dark mode. Again, a reboot to get rid of that. Fast boiot up and usability isn't Sync's string suit, but that seems to be similar to a lot of other cars. Super fast computer tech is expensive, so I think they keep it pretty basic. I'd happily pay extra for beefier tech. But most people probably don't even notice this lag.
