Its only a car - glad everyone is okay, that's what matters.

While i know the EV6 isnt equal to the GT - you cant beat the value proposition kia gives. great warranty, free charging and a heat-pump / better efficiency (which = lower cost for home charging)
Yea, and it definitely drives better…well, not better than the GTPE but, better than the other iterations. I’m fortunate in many ways. If I don’t like the EV6, I’ll sell it and find something else….early impressions have me in this car for some time.

I love that EV6, the color of yours is very nice! Two people bought the only two EV6's in Memphis (at the time) as my wife was buying her Niro EV last month, they came from a couple of states over to do it.

The lack of wireless AA is a bummer, but they do sell dongles now that will help with that -- Motorola has one that seems to always be out of stock, and another called AAWireless is "available", but may take a while to ship. My wife's Niro EV also lacks wireless AA (I guess the size of the screen is what they claim as a reason it isn't available .. which makes no sense), so I plan to gift her that AA dongle soon.
The wireless CarPlay was never a dealbreaker. As long as I have CarPlay, I’m ok. Thx for the info on the adapters.

1) Glad you and your family are all ok... Super sad for your MME.

2) Great writeup.. thanks for sharing.

3) Glad to know I'm not the only one who sees the hips of the car and thinks, "Yeah... that works!"

4) and lastly, please DO stick around and let us know how it's going with the EV6.

Holy cow!! Glad you're ok - that is some serious damage!!! I'm sorry that the Ford dealership was ? to you (not that I'm surprised, given my own experience). Glad you stuck to your guns, walked away, and had a great experience at Kia. Enjoy your new EV!

Glad you walked away mostly unscathed!

Glad to hear the looks of the EV6 are growing on you. I just do not like the rear end of that car.
Liked your comment about the tires. When I get my MME I am going to put 255s on it.

Terrific writeup of your take on MMEGT vs KEV6. I couldn't agree more on all your assessments of where the MME and EV6 are strongest. I think the one quality I didn't see you address is steering feel which for me and many others is a fundamental requirement. I know the GT-Line is fast and the car looks amazing (more futuristic than the Mach-E but not quite as perfect in the face and hips). But from what I've read, it has that sort of semi-numb steering feel. Not a deal breaker for everyone but I love the super-connected feel of the MME. Congrats on your second consecutive kick-ass EV! Stay safe :)

Just now catching up on this thread. Don't have much to add other than I'm glad you're ok after that wreck and glad you were able to get into another EV. I have to admit, I have hated almost all the product shots of the EV6 but it looks great in white. Also, I didn't know about the augmented HUD. That is NICE. I would love to have something like that.

Ty. Sucks that I even had to write this up but I felt like I deserved to let the community know about the competition and where the MME can improve. I’m sure some, if not all of the “flaws” are known by Ford at this point. Let’s hope they fix them.

Thank you. ??
I didn’t know about it either but It was a very pleasant surprise. That definitely adds to the upscale feeling of the cockpit.

Nah…that’s not it. I do actually think the car is better overall than the MME. I’m not regretting the decision at all, let’s be clear. The back of the MME is better looking for sure. But the important parts…well except for the storage….are bested by the EV-6 in nearly every area. Cognitive Dissonance would be me buying a Prius and coming on here feigning a superior vehicle.? I like the Kia better…??

Wow he went to dictionary.com on me. ???
There is a saying - “when you know better, you do better”. Now that I’ve driven another EV that, IMO, is a better car (all of my reasons were listed above) I figured that I would share my comparisons since I’m in the unique position of owning the best of both.

Let me say this so you understand…I like the EV6 better. It’s not any more simple than that. YES, I still like the looks of the rear of the MME better but I’m not driving the car from the back now, am I? And I don’t need reasons to justify the purchase. Had I never stepped into a Kia dealership, I would still be longing for the MME. Lucky for me, the Ford dealership was ? on customer service. At the end of the day, looks are subjective.

I do applaud your attempts at psychoanalysis but, I’m married to a psychologist in my real life. She actually loves the car more than I do…the bounciness of the MME was a frequent complaint. So, it’s a win-win. I got the car I didn’t even know I wanted and she actually likes to ride around in my car now instead of taking the Porsche. My wallet thanks me.

I don’t yuck your yum, it’d be nice if you didn’t yuck mine…

thx for the well wishes…I wish u the same. ✌?

I hope you're right ... The EV6 looks great .. also pretty interested in the Genesis variant of that. I look forward to more of your VERY good write-ups!
