Howdy,
Often use Waze via Android Auto for navigation, especially in areas where I'm not familiar. It's great, but it runs my battery down and heats my phone up, even when attempting to charge the phone at the same time. It's an acceptable trade-off for being able to have Waze do it's routing magic.
But when I know the area or expect to want to use a DC Fast charger, I want to use the native Ford Nav. Which I can, easily enough, but even when Ford Nav is running, once Android Auto starts, I cannot see a way to "stop" it for a given trip.
I don't want to disable Android Auto's default "auto start" policy - I use it easily 80% of the time.
I'm just looking for a way that, once it starts, I can shut it down for a trip and it actually stops running (and stops draining/heating my phone)
I've tried swiping the Android Auto "tile" on the MacheE down (for the garbage can) and it goes away, but the phone is still running Android Auto. I've tried stopping it on the phone, but it "springs back" to life within seconds.
I really don't want to have to dig through settings to turn auto-start off and then back on each time, so hoping I'm missing something "obvious" (or at least "clever") on how to stop it for just a single trip
Thanks for any pointers
Gerry
