Maybe it's new, maybe not. I have preconditioning when navigating directly to Tesla Superchargers through the built in nav. They don't show up in the navs charger list, but when navigating directly the car preconditions.

I'm still a newbie, so maybe I missed something, but I didn't think this was working yet. I've been adding other stations as waypoints to get the car to precondition when heading to a Supercharger. Took my first road trip yesterday and noticed on the return the car preconditions without adding another station as a waypoint, tested again today with success navigating directly.

Can you describe how you are entering the Superchargers if they aren't in the charger list (list the steps), and how you are verifying preconditioning is occurring?

In the on board nav tap on the search in the top left and type Tesla in the search bar, select the Supercharger from the search list, and hit go. The icon in the cluster for distance now shows as a charger for the destination rather than the flag it used to show. Verified by watching the temps in Car Scanner, it's behaving the same as I've seen navigating to a charger from the charger list.

I can confirm this has been working for me for a few months now, but not all the Tesla Supercharger sites are in the nav yet.

Thanks, I tried that, but there were some issues. So it appears Ford has the Superchargers in the database, but not all of them have the correct POI type to activate preconditioning. When you navigate to a charger, it should show a charger icon with the distance to the charger in the cluster. In my testing, some of the superchargers showed the correct charger icon, and some did not. I’m not sure why, perhaps it has to do with how long the charger has been open for NACS and whether the POI type had been updated in the database yet. That means preconditioning will only work at SOME of the Superchargers you select with this method.

In addition, it’s not clear if a Tesla location shown is a dealer or destination charger. If you just try to select the nearest one that comes up, you may be in for a surprise when you get there. So with this method, you must cross reference the address of the Supercharger in the Tesla or Ford app to verify its open to NACS vehicles.

So in summary this MAY work to get preconditioning in some cases, but it’s a bit of a hack for advanced users that know for a fact which Supercharger they’re going to and that’s it’s NACS compatible.

I tried with my local Tesla NACS supercharger that is 10 miles from me and it did not start preconditioning. I then switched to a local Blnk fast charger and preconditioning started immediately. So, I think Mach-Lee is right, still some issues. But, OP, thanks for pointing it out!
