I wanted to post my purchase experience today after 10 months of waiting for my Route 1 to arrive. So I purchased back in November 2021 and today I get the call that my car arrived. Here is how it went down:
1. Price Protection: They wanted to charge me the MSRP on the window sticker. I obviously had price protection and sent them the order sheet and the sheet Ford sent to dealers saying that customers were price protected if cars were ordered before December. Once I showed those two pieces of info they quickly relented to price protection. So that took the MSRP from 53,550 to 51,875 for a "savings" of $1675.
2. $500 deposit: They said they never saw that I paid a $500 deposit when I placed my order last November. So my $500 deposit was gone and I gave up trying after I showed them proof I paid a deposit. They just shrugged.
3. Options: The manager had no idea that I could do ford options from last November. They called some other places and got is sorted. I was happy to save $2500 by doing Ford Options so that was a win. I believe them that they didn't know as I could easily overhear their convo with some off-site manager. Savings of $2500.
4. X-Plan: I learned about about x-plan a couple months ago and qualified through my wife's work. I got the 7 digit pin and was all set. They said they couldn't do x-plan AND price protection which seemed very common after reading a couple other posts. There didn't seem to be a way to convince them and I saw nothing on the forums to make the point. So there went $750.
5: Park-Assist: So the window sticker showed the -$325 for Park Assist. I brought this up but they shrugged and were like we don't know how to reduce the price $325 since you are on price protection. So that's a loss of $325.

I have to believe my situation went better than most thanks to the tons of helpful info from this forum. It's still an absolutely miserable process that dragged for over 3 hours. And for those wondering I purchased this at Frontier Ford in Santa Clara (SF Bay Area). I don't want to single them out as being bad. In my mind the fault lies with Ford not able to help their customers or their dealers through the purchase process.
There is no way I would have let the $500 deposit slide. If you had a credit card statement with the Ford Dealer’s charge on there, it should be open and shut case.

you can go back and demand that they honor x plan and make sure of all other item it is NOT easy by any means but you will get nothing if you don’t push .. it’s ironic how hard you have to work to get what is owed but you can’t ignore it or it’s just money in their pocket ..if I’m giving money away I can think of many other ways I’d provide to needy not car dealerships

Want to borrow my friend from Google
LOL
The timeshare presentation an excellent time to flip out eBay and show them what they’re missing

my best trick is to sign up for the ridiculous maintenance and service agreement which are instantly cancelable with an email the day after you sign them, and every penny is deducted from your purchase agreement that we don’t even argue with them at the dealership just take it all and cancel it the next day. Generally saved an hour.

Jes sayin. Just bring intelligence and it usually works.

I'm going through a similar thing right now, please scumbag dealership in Haverhill, Massachusetts.

Refuses to honor price prediction, No incentives protection.

I even called Ford corporate and there's nothing they can do for me.

It's in the dealership's best interest if I back out of the deal, They are marking mustangs up 10 to 20K, 20 to 30K on lightnings and big broncos.

ADM means "A Dying Model" that's what dealerships are

I had a rough time in my buying experience. To make a long story short I went in with facts and figures and knew what I wanted . After 4 1/2 hours I walked out with my new MME, but I was drained mentally. I felt all in all I got close to what I wanted trade in price etc. However , the dealer had my head spinning, and with the salesman doing the “well let me see if they will agree to this” leaving me to wait 10 to 15 min at a time. Ok, I agreed, signed the paperwork on Halloween, no less and walked out with my car. Lo and behold I just noticed today, a week later, that they did not give me credit for my $500 deposit. I plan to go in tomorrow and ask for a check for my deposit. I would also like to ask for the 7% taxes on it as well. Do I have any recourse if they refuse and tell me a deal is a deal?

You didn't pay 7% taxes when you provided that deposit, so you shouldn't receive a 7% tax refund when they refund the $500 back to you.

Or am I missing something?

Well the final purchase price technically was $500 higher than it should have been. I paid 7% on that purchase price, so I assumed I could get the 7% of $500 or $35 more dollars back. I would just be happy to get the $500 back.

They failed to acknowledge your $500 deposit towards the purchase, so it doesn't show up in your purchase agreement that you signed. So you didn't pay tax on it.

Anyway, I'm just saying you definitely should get your $500 back. And they should apologize about it and hopefully ensure they've made you whole. Maybe that requires something extra like a free oil change or wheel locks... But refunding sales tax wouldn't make sense since you didn't pay excess sales tax.

I checked my bank account and this morning they did credit me the $500. Man, I am so glad I checked this morning before I went in looking for my $500. Thanks to all who responded. This forum is awesome.
