out of the blue. It's identical to the SSM 49676 issue as reported by some MME owners. When you approach the car (with fob or PAAK) the driver door will not respond to pushing the open button; but all other doors (including the trunk) will respond and cause the driver's door to unlock. She's going into the local dealer's shop this afternoon and will hopefully be back in 24 to 48 hours, according to the service manager. The issue is 100% replicable (unfortunately). I did download the latest Fordpass version the day before but that's the only thing different. Like I said - just started for no apparent reason - so let's hope the module update fixes everything. Still hoping for wireless CarPlay one day (it will not do unwired). I'll update everyone on the experience. It's her first dealer visit.

Yes, have then do the RFA update. See if they can do the powertrain updates too while they're at it, it only adds a few extra minutes.

It has wireless CarPlay, does it not work on yours for some reason?

Just got her back. They reprogrammed the BCM, as per the SSM and corrected the issue. However, during the retest she threw a "stop safely" message. The tech reprogrammed the PCM, BECM, SOBDMB, SOBDMC, SOBDM and ABS modules, per TSB-21-2245. This appears to have taken care of the message issues. So far, so good. She reacts normally when approached with the FOB. I am leaving Phone as Key, unconnected for now to ensure the FOB fix is good. I've found if you make too many changes at once, you can't tell which change is responsible for what effect.
CarPlay has been a challenge. It worked fine for two or three weeks after purchase, but one day it just started giving me the message it needed to be physically attached to operate. I've not been able to get it to go back to wireless operation, even if I delete the phone from the Ford system. Luckily, the Ford nav and infotainment system is fine and I don't miss CarPlay. It's available, just a PITA to connect and disconnect all the time.

After taking her out for about 45 minutes, she's behaving like a computer that has had a "hard reset!!" Everything is much more responsive and behaving like it should. I'm gonna KISS by not introducing the Phone as Key and Carplay issues right now and observe things - but I'm liking how everything seems like brand new.

Carplay came back and worked flawlessly for a month. It went away (bluetooth is being broadcast by phone but car not discovering it) a week ago. My suspicion lies with the Fordpass update that was downloaded that same day, but you never know. I'll be having the newest update done at the dealer, in addition to the glass recall, so I probably won't invest much time into troubleshooting until then.
