There has to be a way that's not basically becoming a dealer.

I understand we have access to some ford tools if we want to spend a couple hundred dollars but man, there HAS to be some way to re-trigger an OTA! The fact that my update just says not completed and the Ford dealership just insisted the update needed to be done over wifi and that the car has tried to update multiple times every day is crazy. We really just need a simple button or SOMETHING that lets us manually retry. I'm not talking spamming the update button everyday but if an update has already come down, downloaded but just failed due to whatever condition, WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO TRY AGAIN!

As much as I'm enjoying the car, the IT person in me is screaming because just like other things we can't do, is such a basic thing and takes ZERO effort to implement.

Not complete presents a quandary. Failed can be dealt with.

Understand your frustration. (Lots of threads on this.)

The most common reason for update failure is the 12V battery is too low. If you’ve not already done so, try taking the car for a longish drive and that should charge the 12V. Also be sure you don’t have any accessories (e.g,. dash cam, OBD dongle , etc.) that are drawing power. Another option is to turn the car fully on (not accessory mode) and turn off auto power down. This will charge the 12V without needing to drive anywhere.

Also in IT (datacenter admin). We are users. You get updates when the admins say you get updates, in the way the admins want. There are ways to insure updates complete. If it didn’t install, rest assured it’ll be attempted again. While you’re waiting:

Failed is different than “not completed”. The article will explain.

Let me guess . It was the 12v lockout update PT-25.10.10. Do I win ? You are not alone .
I tried everything to get that to update . Lights off . Brake set . Changed update times . Actually charged the 12v . Did Mach Lee's "take a long drive" tip. Multiple fails .
Yesterday the car said it had an update that would install at the requested time . Looked at Ford Pass later and lo and behold ....UPDATE SUCCESSFUL . Beats me what was different this time around .Maybe the car just likes it cold and snowy .
That's was the first update since 2021 that fought me tooth and nail .
Ok all those words that I typed is just a way of saying RELAX ....its upsetting when an update fails especially an important one like a "lock out " one but itll probably work itself out all by its self like mine did . Give it a little more time. Mine has been trying that update since before Thanksgiving .
GOOD LUCK

I remember looking at that, that's kind of what I'm saying. Being an Admin as well, this process is mind numbing for what is considered basic at this point. Especially when our "admin" (Ford) is saying to do A and B and your update will complete.

The recall OTA has been sketchy at best.

Go to the dealer to get it completed.

Why this OTA has been a “tried and failed” OTA multiple times for many people is a mystery

Because it has a very high 12V charge level requirement due to the many modules it updates. Which doesn't jive with people that have cold or aged 12V batteries.

I have TWO 2024 Premium AWD Long Range Mach-E's: One Eruption Green, one White
About that recall update: Ford mobile service came to my house and she connected jumper cables to my 12v before starting the update. It’s a 1 year old car.

Interesting. I wonder if it is the most “resource “ intensive update so far.

I was due for a new 12V (3-1/2 years) and the continuous failing to update was the “push” I needed to get a new 12V installed.

This OTA is a config only OTA that was sent out to fix an issue where a TCU update changed the country code of the TCU to a different country and caused connectivity issues. Based on the fact that you got OTA's sent to you recently, chances are you don't need this OTA and it failed because the config is already correct in your vehicle. Message me the VIN and I can confirm that's the case. To our knowledge, this was the first OTA Ford ever sent out that actually required wifi to install, and that is because the vehicles that did need it could not get it via the cellular modem since the modem itself was affected.

"Not completed" means the OTA attempt did indeed fail. You cannot retry to install any OTA once you see that message. All you can do is wait for it to be resent and hope for better luck next time.
