When I purchased my Mach-E back in April, I went to the Ford Accessories page (from the Mach-E page) to find a dash cam compatible with the Mach- E. I added it to the to my total purchase.
Took it to a Ford dealer to have it installed a couple weeks later. The moment I left the lot it kept turning on and off. Thought it needed to be updated, but that didn't fix the problem.
Contacted Thinkware, and they told me the problem was the power cable and that it needed to be a different cable. The sent me a replacement cable, but I had to pay another $225 at the dealership to get it installed.
Contacted Thinkware asking them why a dashcam was on the Mach-E accessories page without a proper cable. I wanted them to reimburse me for the second install. This is the response I got:
Hello There,
Unfortunately, we are not responsible for refunds unless anything was done/purchased directly from us or our website.
Since the installation was done through a third-party distributor the refund would have to go through that company!
We apologize for any inconvenience this may casue!
Please feel free to contact us again if you encounter any other issues.
Kind regards,
Customer Support
Do I have a point or is this a lost cause?
