Time to dealer (San Jose) once shipped

So, does anyone know why the vehicles sit around for soooo long at each point of the shipping chain?

Hi everyone....we are in the same boat as all of you with the delayed shipping over and over again. We ordered our Red Premium Extended Battery on 11/15/21 and waited until 6/27 to be built after a few delays with build dates. Car was completed on 6/29 and got the shipping notice on 7/5/22. Since then we have had 3 different estimated dates with the most recent being 10/9-10/15. Ughh!!!

The most recent shipping says it was picked up from Argentine, KS on 9/10. Anyone have a good idea of how long to reach California from there? Our dealer says 3-4 days until it reaches Richmond and from there he can go to Richmond and pick it up himself...but I see varying information on this forum regarding this.

Just got an update that on the Sep. 10th it arrived at the Argentine ramp. Don’t know if that’s better or worse.

Got my first updated shipping time email from ford (even though my eta has been pushed out at least 6 times). ETA is now 9/14-9/20. Last update from my dealer was that train has gone through Barstow CA and is now on its way to Richmond. According to ford chat it left Argentine KS on Sept 6 if that helps anyone in their estimates.

Typically I've see our cars go:

• Cuautitlán Stamping and Assembly Plant (CSAP) in Cuautitlán Izcalli, Mexico.
• Usually moved with a convoy to Ramp 5J, Lecheria Cuap, EM.
• Then a KCS train to Junction Point Laredo, TX.
• From there the same KCS train to Ramp 6R, Richards-gebaur, MO.
• After that it's a convoy to to Ramp 6M, Argentine, KS.
• From there it's usually a BNSF train to Ramp 84, Richmond, CA.
• Then a convoy to your local dealer.

Each step can take just a few days to a few weeks or months even. I'm currently at Ramp 6R and have been there since August 12. Usually once you're on a train and moving to the next destination it is relatively quick (like a few days to a week at most).

The rail strike draws closer. I think no one is going to move until after that's resolved. My suspicion is that big, expensive things moving long distances (like cars from KS to CA) are being paused by the freight companies in case the strike does happen on Friday and the loads would end up stranded "somewhere".

I am getting increasingly frustrated with the state of shipping to Bay Area. So I've decided to start aggregating all of the people who are in the same boat waiting for their cars in the Bay Area with Build Weeks in June 2022 - August 2022. From what I can tell, most folks from the Build Weeks in May 2022 have already gotten their vehicles in the Bay Area.

My 2022 Premium Extended AWD was ordered in 10/27/21, built 7/16/2022 shipped early August initially (can't remember the date). Most recent update (third time!) is 10/9 - 10/15 for arrival. I am In Tracy and understand from the dealer that my Mach E is in Missouri as of last week and for the month. What the heck??

I've been lurking here for awhile and wanted to add my information to the list. I ordered a 2022 Premium AWD ER IBSM on 10/23/21, Built 6/30/22, Shipped 8/1/22. I am on the Peninsula. The latest delivery estimate window (I've had about 8 so far I think) has it as 9/13 (yesterday) I checked with Ford Chat to see where it is and they mentioned that it shipped from Argentine on 9/11 via BNSF and I got a BNSF number finally but they don't have an updated delivery estimate.

Does anybody know how to track BNSF once you get a number? Based on @LeWe order of operations, I am crossing my fingers it magically arrives in Richmond and gets unloaded before midnight tomorrow

Is your dealer Fremont Ford? Mine is Fremont Ford and they are giving me hard time to pick the car from Richmond to the dealership. Car is stuck at Richmond yard from last 3 weeks.

Yes Fremont Ford. They have not been very forthcoming with delivery status in general. Based on your update here it appears there is delay at every stage. I doubt I will get delivery even on Oct 15.

Just for a point of reference, back when my 2021 shipped, it was about 4 or 5 days from the Argentine Ramp to Richmond. Once in Richmond the car sat nearly a week. 5 days into the wait at Richmond, tracking showed my car in SoCal. The next day my dealer texted me a picture of the trailer coming into their driveway with my car on it. I picjed up the car a few days later.
