Transmission Not In Park

Just hopped in to move my car to charge. Got “Transmission not in park” warning, car felt like the parking break was on…but I was on a level surface.

Turned it off, opened the door, closed the door, and rebooted… everything was OK. Anyone else experienced this or know what I did wrong?

Just happened to me too when I was getting in to drive off. Unsure what glitched, but seems to be okay now.

It will do this if you change it to Drive or reverse before closing the door. Its a safety thing.

An interesting and somewhat hilarious twist is that it will totally let you select reverse if the passenger hasn't yet closed their door. The alarm that displays is something about Backup Camera not Available and some chimes but I presume it would allow me to drive off. Haven't actually tested it.....yet.
