On occasion, when I leave work (after car has been parked outside in the cold all day) I have noticed that my trip energy usage display will indicate that a percentage (usually a high % to start) of my energy is being used for climate.
This is true even if I have not turned on the heat at all. It was not on when I turned the car off, therefore it was never on at any point since I turned the car back on. Most times that large % at the beginning will dwindle as I drive farther, but mi/KW will remain low as if I am using the heat, which I am not. It seems toi then drain the battery more quickly. Sometimes, if I am at a stop light, I can turn the car off and on and it will reset and be fine, but not always.
This does not happen (only once) when I leave for work in the morning while my car has been parked in my garage all night.
Any insights on why this is happening or what I can do?
Thanks!
