Need some advice. I haven't driven my 2021 Premium for the past three weeks because of some lingering medical issues. There was an auto update scheduled for last night and this morning the message said interrupted, low battery. I'm presuming it's the 12v. I had the MME plugged in after using it for a bit yesterday. How long should i drive it around to get the 12v charged,

Not plugged in you can't. Unplug it, then start it, then turn off the shutdown timer. Set a timer for an hour, then try to apply the update manually.

Should I leave it running and unplugged while trying to finish the update?

I also have a 2021 and got that update failed message due to low battery. coincidentally, I had to take a ride, so I tried it that night, presumably after charging up the 12 V. The update still failed. I called the number, and the lady told me that the car has to be unplugged (I just have a level two charger in my garage) in order for the update to occur. That’s not what the instructions said in the message that I got through the car’s messaging app about completing the download. I did unplug the car, and it did upload as it should have. While I was on the phone with the lady, she told me that my 12 V battery was at 83%. She said that should be enough to complete the download.

Many updates can install while the car is running. Some, known as “inhibit updates” cannot. To be safe, power the car down and apply the update. ??

That’s in my guide above FWIW.

I had the same issue for a few days. Left it unplugged at 90%, plugged in at 90%, forced the update right after unplugging, car in the garage, car out of the garage, nothing worked for like 4 days. 5th day I came out and it was all updated, not sure what was different but I'd just make sure it's unplugged at >80% battery and wait a while. (Now the SOC indicator is missing in Engage mode unless cruise control is on, so that's fun, but at least the 12v won't discharge as easily!)
