[Updated] FordPass Redesign/Dark Mode Idea

Oh, I have ...M A N Y... functionality ideas/suggestions.

I present to you, my initial FordPass feature/function list:

Feature/Function Examples:

• Pet Mode (like Tesla or Rivian) that leaves all systems off, except the climate control system to keep pets cool in the summer, warm in the winter.
• More Detailed Climate Controls in FordPass (not sure if system API’s allow). This would allow people to:
  • Change settings from vent airflow to floor to combination
  • Change actual temperature (Lo, 61, 62, 63, 64….)
  • Turn on front and rear defrosters remotely (helps to avoid having to go out to the car in the snow)
• FordPass calendar integration (Google, Microsoft, Apple) that pre-conditions batteries, pre-starts car, cools/heats the car before you have an appointment at an address other than your current location. If you REALLY want to get creative, Apple and Microsoft calendars have “Travel Time” reminders that alert users when they need to leave to arrive on time. So a 2:00pm appointment has a 30 minute travel time reminder at 1:30pm. FordPass could start and cool/heat the car at whatever time is needed to cool/heat the car to the desired temperature before 1:30pm.
• Have FordPass include actual car status information (we don’t know what data is available from the car, so some may be possible or impossible).
  • Whether car is on, off, in Pet Mode, etc.
  • Whether car is lock or unlocked
  • Whether doors are open or closed
  • Whether the windows are open or closed
  • Whether the interior lights are on or off
  • Whether the exterior lights are on or off
  • Whether the rear hatch and Frunk are open or closed
  • Current temperature in the car. HVAC should have this from its “Auto" setting. Possibly with option to pre-cool or heat.
  • Any warning lights/trouble codes
  • etc.
• Add car functions/readouts to CarPlay. Porsche is doing this now in CarPlay. Apple’s new version of CarPlay can handle apps, data, functions sent to it from the car’s networks.
• We have PAAK. Could we also have WAAK (Watch As A Key) with Apple and Google watches?
• Make the Mach-E(s) that appear in Sync match the trim and color of the car.
• Allow the user/owner to change the color of the car in Sync to whatever they prefer. Tesla offers this.
• Let Owners control more car settings with MyKey in FordPass and in Sync. This would be great for kids, friends that the car may be lent to, etc.
  • Max volume on stereo
  • Lock Out sounds settings (Equalizer, Fade, Balance)
  • Set Max Speed or speed over posted speed limit. Maybe have a setting that restricts the MyKey user to 5-10 miles over the speed limit that Ford Nav has, or the car sees.
  • Set Max Acceleration: 0-60 in 8-9 seconds (I do not want my sons doing 3.5 second 0-60 runs in my GT Performance Edition)
  • Preset and locked Drive Mode (Kids: Whisper, Friends: Whisper or Engage, Spouse: Their choice)
  • Mandatory ADAS (Lane Keep, Brake Assist, Blind Spot, etc.)
