I got the premium AWD with the upgraded sound system. When I test drove one of these about a month ago I was impressed with the audio quality but my no means, blown away. Once I received my car, and have had it about a week, the sound quality is underwhelming. I'm by no means an audiophile but do appreciate good sound. My biggest complaint is the lack of bass. I believe there is a sub in the back of the car but it's not providing any thump (not expecting trunk rattling bass). I really prefer to keep a good stock sound system and am having the dealership check the sub out before taking any other action.

Any thoughts on this? Maybe my expectations are too high? Anyone upgrading their speakers / sub?

Have you played with the audio equalizer settings in the car's main menu? I turned up the bass to +3 or +4 and it delivers a nice punch without being obnoxiously irritating or distorted

I have done this. It helps but after further review, I’m going to have the entire system redone.

Maybe I'm missing something obvious, but is there a way to save these settings? They get reset every time I leave the car.

Exactly what I needed. Thanks!
I've almost finished the project, just the manual volume knob to install (ordered later).

If you have the time and inclination, this is a wonderful project, very well documented by Mark. I did it over a few days. I've done lots of electronics projects (both professional (national laboratory) and hobby), but this was my first experience with Dynamat. The rear cargo floor is a great place to learn, totally invisible once re-assembled.

Try going to guest profile, set the audio settings and then go back to your profile. Worked for me.

Double check that both of your key fob and your phone are associated with your profile. If more than one linked device is present, MME choses the "first key to initiate memory recall". I imagine that causes some additional confusion where there are multiple driver devices (e.g. husband/wife)?

I deleted my fob (not the profile), reconnected it (just follow the directions and push lock), reconnected my iPhone (which oddly was shown as not connected to my profile) (again just push lock in the Ford App when told to do so). So far, so good (my audio tone settings are now holding). One of my old radio channel select pages even came back!

The guest profile maintains "existing settings", but once there is a first profile, just serves as an additional driver.

See pages 357, 358 of the manual, this is almost as difficult as setting up scenes in philips home automation :)
