Dealer has a 2021 select offering list price of $30,500 and me an out the door price of $18,500 after my trade in. Originally $22k but negotiated down to $18.5k. Job 2021, VIN comes back 1 owner, 7k miles, no HVBJB recall currently, and it’s excellent condition as I did drive it. Any thoughts on this and if I should go for it?

Try looking at https://www.truecar.com/ for used mach-e's to give you an idea what they are running.
I test drove a 2021 Premium ER with 19k miles for 39k but ended up buying a new 2023 Premium SR.
You can get a pretty good deal & financing on new ones now plus the tax credit.

If you plan to keep it for a long time. Get the extended battery because after 75k miles, you'll lose about 10% of its original range. Sometimes you can find used deals advertised for $30k.

Do not buy a used '21 Job 1 Mach-E until you are able to test drive the car on an interstate to confirm that Hands-Free BlueCruise is operational. You have been warned.

The reasons for this are several. If the original owner blew off taking the car in to get repaired/updated (CSP 21G01 - even after two extensions of the program deadline), or if the car has other software issues that are preventing it from receiving updates (current version of Sync is always available here) and the warranty has now expired you could be in for a very expensive surprise. Service departments are not going to fix this problem for free now that the warranty has expired.

Another problem for Ford is that now that the BC 'trial' period has expired for these cars (31 Dec)...how are prospective customers of secondhand '21 J1 cars going to determine whether or not they're buying a car that's capable of BC functionality? They could be buying something like one new forum member did who recently discovered that his BC doesn't work, and never has worked becasue the original owner never got the car "unstuck" from the failed 1.7.1 PowerUp...but just traded in the car instead. Now the new owner is on the hook for paying to get all that sorted out (and yes, it was a "Certified Pre-owned" vehicle).

Avoid '21J1 Mach-Es unless you can test drive the car using HFBC and make sure to check with the service department to view the car's health report on the service advisor's computer screen.
