Just when you though Will Ferrell had fallen off the face of the earth, he shows up in an ad for GM....sounds about right.GM Super Bowl ad is hilarious:
It's a great ad for the electric vehicle sector. It's not focused on a vehicle or even a brand. Plus it's funny.Just when you though Will Ferrell had fallen off the face of the earth, he shows up in an ad for GM....sounds about right.
You forgot about the EV-1, but then again everyone has forgotten about the EV-1It's a great ad for the electric vehicle sector. It's not focused on a vehicle or even a brand. Plus it's funny.
GM was a pioneer with electric technology. It came out with the Volt and then the first BEV with a range over 200 miles at a price under $75K, which was quite the engineering feat. Then it just stalled.
However, with a platform, battery technology, and advanced pack technology, GM appears to have hands down the best technology for BEVs going forward. VW has a platform, and the Koreans have announced one, but neither has mentioned battery or pack technology. Tesla has gone its own way with small cell battery technology but lacks a platform. Toyota hopefully has something.
I think GM scared itself with the EV-1!You forgot about the EV-1, but then again everyone has forgotten about the EV-1
They are the Apple of BEV's - for now.Choice & competition are good! It will be interesting to see what happens to Tesla when they actually have a competitive market, filled with competent players and strong offerings? Not everyone is a tech billionaire or Hollywood starlet (or wannabe of one of those two categories) which seems to be the sole Tesla target demographic ?
And crush they did......I think GM scared itself with the EV-1!
"Holy s%$#$! What have we done? We're not ready for this. Quick, crush em all."
That’s pretty insulting to Apple. Apple would never ship anything with quality that bad, nor would they treat their customers the way Tesla treats theirs. They are the Apple of BEV's - for now.
Are you forgetting about the phones with antenna problems and them secretly degrading performance to improve battery life? That’s pretty insulting to Apple. Apple would never ship anything with quality that bad, nor would they treat their customers the way Tesla treats theirs.
Don't forget they joined the previous administration and stood against California's more stringent emission standards. It's a great ad for the electric vehicle sector. It's not focused on a vehicle or even a brand. Plus it's funny.

Worse is that by challenging CARB's authority to regulate emissions -- which was ridiculous given the history and language of the Clean Air Act -- GM was essentially arguing the zero emission mandate should be voided.Don't forget they joined the previous administration and stood against California's more stringent emission standards.
