Hi all, new 2023.5 Mach-E owner here. Really happy with all aspects of the car. Love the look, how it drives, and how cozy it feels inside. The puddle lights were the biggest new car surprise so far (can forget 20% of the horrible dealership experience).

I was just wondering if there is a way to set up the volume control knob to operate as climate control all the time? Since there is a set of volume buttons in the steering wheel I feel that it is redundant. Also it takes away the benefits of having a physical control - first I have to take my eyes off -> tap the screen without any tactile feedback -> then turn the knob. I change my climate frequently and would have loved to have a dedicated knob that I can use without any extra steps.

No setting that I know of to change its primary function like that. Leave feedback for Ford with the feedback app on the center screen. ??

I set the climate control to auto and never touch it. You could try that.
I am glad that setting once and forgetting is working for you, but based on whether I am hopping into the car in the morning or returning from a long hike at 1pm I like to adjust my target temperature.

just going to have to live with tap and turn. It’s a lot better than the tap & slide we used to have to do.

I thought it would be great to be able to change the function of the dial by pressing the dial. Just turn it? Volume. Press it in first? Changes it to temp.
Good point - would've been easy to build muscle memory.
I am nitpicking here. I think it also would've been great if there was an option to choose the default functionality since there is already a physical volume button.

I believe you can use voice to control climate, may work better for you.

Hi,

Not sure if this will help you try searching Radio Icons and Labels Gone
Its different to what you describe two vehicles mentioned including mine both encountered problems with an update that gave some very useful additional features for the volume control which until the update only had two functions being radio volume and switching from whatever screen you were on to date and time and back again by pressing hold and turning volume knob.

The features gained were we can now turn on, off and adjust heated seats heater temperature and fan speed plus some other nice features from the home screen. including opening the trunk.

Only real problem is the radio is a pain to find and save stations a discussed in the thread.

We’re glad to hear it, Dominic! It's one of our favorite features on the Mach-E too!

Hi Mel, thanks for the tips. I am on 6.13 - will checkout other features if they are available.
