I currently drive a Mach e awd premium spec
According to the manual I should be able to set the Walk Away Lock.
Trouble is when I follow the instructions - settings - vehicle - locks
There is no setting for walk away.
Any ideas as to what I am doing wrong?

This might be some odd option that is somehow not allowed in the UK? You probably can activate it using Forscan.

Not a UK option.

FORScan is a Ford hacking tool. Not for dealers.

It's not available in the UK but it can be turned on using Forscan. Whereabouts are you in the UK?

Welcome to the world of poop Ford knowledge and info in the uk on their premium cars. Wait until you take it in and get treated like you own a 10 year old fiesta.

There's a couple of owners in London who know the inner workings of Forscan. They offered to switch it on for me and show me how it's done. I'm up near Milton Keynes so if you're ever down this way I can certainly do the same for you.

Good to hear you have some help nearby. I’d recommend also getting the power meter feature enabled that’s only on the GT Mach E if you’re getting help from someone with FORScan. It’s a great program that helps to unlock some hidden features that might not be available in every market.

Yes, Walk Away. Locking can be enabled by FORSCAN scan in the UK. I had it done on my 2021 AWD ER. Then discovered that it’s considered a modification by Ford and can void warranty work.
Secondly, the reason it’s not available is that it is against Thatcham regulations. Which means technically can void your insurance. Walkway locking should include an audible sound when it occurs. That’s not allowed in the UK. So no chirp on locking with fob or walk away. The other issue is in the UK/NI The MME has what’s called double locking. Walk Away locking interferes with double locking. It’s when you push the lock button on fob twice. I According to Ford, it means the door can’t be open, even if a window is broken reaching in. So I tried it and put my wife in the car. Damn out she came! So not sure about double locking?
My MME has been in the dealer now for over a month while they’re investigating a 12v drain on LBV. One of the things they did was to disable walkway locking because the drain is coming from the BCM module. They also did this to protect my warranty Which otherwise will be a very big bill.
It’s still in the dealer and no telling when I’ll get it back because still getting a drain. So next they will be replacing the BCM and those don’t seem to be available. At least I’m driving another MME as a loaner.

The GT power bar is cool, which can be added by FORSCAN But won’t work on 2021 due to IPC ver. Another cool FORCAN hack is set side view mirrors to dip on reverse. But remember Ford considers all of these as modifications (hacks). So make sure you have a friendly dealer. if you are in warranty and need work. Otherwise if they discover FORSCAN coding hacks and blow the whistle, … you’re screwed!

James, many thanks for your information. As my car was brand new at the end of January I think I will err on the side of caution and give it a miss.

I had a feeling Walk Away Lock had something to do with regulations there. I got the power meter working on my 2021. You just need the latest IPC version to enable it. Comes with PowerUp 6.8.

James, some interesting stuff and I defer to your experience. We've only had ours a month but a very steep learning curve.
The ommision of walkaway locking really doesn't make sense.. Our 2013 Renault Zoe can do it so no reason why Ford couldn't implement it on a car 9 years newer especially as its offered abroad. Further to that, our Tesla also does it but you can turn off the audible horn through the standard menu and Thatcham and the insurance industry seem to be okay with that. It's a right mess. With regards to double locking, this again sounds like deadlocking, the ability to lock the car so that it can't be opened from the inside like you say. Again our 2013 Zoe does this with a double tap on the keycard and it works. That car does have a manual key though so you can always override it if needed. I guess with the Mach E only having an electronic lock, this might be why it doesn't deadlock/double-lock. I will try this out in our Mach E later this week.
What irks me the most is the lack of PAAK which our American cousins get but we here don't. Some of the decisions Ford UK have made make little sense but I'm sure there's a reason for all. Thankfully, our dealer is 'friendly' and has even asked for us to bring the car in once we rectified some of these minor issues and added our own personal touch to the car.
I will say though vampire drain has been a big thing with the Ford and I'm surprised the LVB isn't more robust. Adding dashcams and other passive drain devices has definitely been... challenging.
