I got lots of unpleasant attention from mostly large pickups with a variety of highly recognizable slogans and affiliations when I drove a Tesla. In the GT, haven't even noticed a sideways glance.

If anyone did question why my first Mustang was an EV, I'd probably answer something like "Because I never liked the ICE ones."

I drove a 1977 Mustang II for three years in the late 70's and hated it. Was that a "real" Mustang?

Our Ford dealership had a car show and invited us to show our MME. I parked our 1928 Model A next to our 2022 MME, told everyone we have an A and an E. We had a ball. An old timer told us, "that's not a Mustang, 'cause it's got four doors".

Just got back from Mustang Week at Myrtle Beach. I was in the show Friday and Saturday, surrounded by hundreds of ICE Mustangs. Did not get one negative comment, except when pulling out, someone yelled, rev it up.

Got to meet Gary Patterson, President of Shelby American. He was there with his personal car, a Shelby Mustang Mach E.

There's the response to "that's not a Mustang."

The President of Shelby drives one, and he calls it a Mustang. If Ford calling it a Mustang isn't sufficient, maybe that'll do it.

I have not had any negative reactions. Mostly people walking around the charging stations asking how I like it. What's the range? Is it fast? Stuff like that.
I would love to see the Shelby version.

Does that hood vent let you grab a cold.one out of the frunk cooler without having to open it? So convenient without a FordPass button!
Good question. I just googled it I don't know anything

Pulled up to our Panda Express (what? I like the orange chicken) and some guy gets out of his Honda Civic R and asks me if my car is my first Mustang. I say “yeah”..

and then he says “it’s pretty interesting you picked the EV as your first Mustang”…. I just walked away. Probably the first weird encounter I’ve had, he definitely seemed triggered about it.

I should have said,“well, I was looking for an EV and this just happened to be a Mustang”

anyone else had weird questions like this?
I get almost no questions about the car. But, I'm ready for them if they every come. This is my fifth Mustang and I've driven over a half a million miles in Mustangs. And this is the best one, by far. I can't wait to use that line if I ever get some disrespect. But I live in SoCal and the Mach E is just another SUV EV that nobody pays attention to.

I’ve had a couple of anti-ev Mustang comments but the big meltdown was maybe 3 months ago. I was at a local grocery store parked right at the store entrance in handicapped parking (Yes, I qualify). I was in reverse waiting for an apparently clueless tourist to stop blocking me. The car was doing its reverse beep and she was staring at the Mustang emblem on the lift gate while standing directly behind the car.

She finally comes to the driver’s door and starts hammering on the driver’s side window with a clenched fist using her wedding ring. Then she starts screaming about the car not being a Mustang. And the beeping noise hurt her ears and if I don’t turn it off she’s going to call the police.

At that point if I could have made that reverse alert any louder I would have. Instead I put the car in park. Grabbed my cane and stepped out of the car and told her to leave my property alone. Yeah we already had an audience. She insisted she has a Mustang at home and this wasn’t one. And the beeping hurt her ears. By then the store manager, store security and the shopping center security had arrived. They invited her to leave and when she argued she got a permanent ban from the grocery store. She took a step towards my car with clenched fists and I blocked her with my cane and told her to leave me and my MUSTANG alone (BTW, I rarely, if ever, call the MME a Mustang). I then added “You’re on vacation. Are you sure you want to spend it getting angry because Bill Ford says this car is a Mustang?” There are some tourist we genuinely do not need here. :(

By far the worst I’ve ever seen.

Once, about a year ago coming back from Hilo on the cross island highway. I had the audacity to pass a Ram that was doing 15 mph below the speed limit (which is 60 mph). He apparently did not like that as he passed me back and unleashed his pollution. I didn’t pass him again because I had Waze up on CarPlay and unfortunately for him, we were coming up on a well known speed trap. The opposite direction cop saw the whole thing. He made a u-turn and pulled the guy over.

Many tickets in Hawaii are fairly cheap by California standards. Not that one. By the time it was all over and done with that was going to cost him the better part of $500 just for the mod alone.

Honestly, 99+% of people are great about the car.
I was on Maui recently and I swear that half the cars are Mustangs and the other half are Suburbans. Didn't see a MME, though.

Car doesn’t have a frunk. It’s a functional radiator exhaust. ??

They're rentals. 95% plus of the Mustangs and Camaros are rentals. Almost every suburban you see is a rental. Almost.

I've had Otto for 14 months or so. I still haven't seen another other than the dealer's FCTP car. Maui is likely the same -- still a rare sighting.

I don't know if I'm just lucky or what, but I've literally not had a single negative interaction. I've gotten plenty of attention but it has 100% been positive so far. A lot of "so, how is it?" out of genuine curiosity, but never negative.
