Speaking of. When you press that button once. Is the rear supposed to auto-open a few inches and stop? Mine seems to be hit or miss but mostly miss when I hit that button. It'll open a little but then you have to press it again for it to resume opening all the way. I'm assuming a defect of some sort with the way it should operate. Once in a while, I can get it to one press open all the way.
There was an update that fixed that for the 23 models. You may not have received it yet.

I've had that happen only once. With back surgery pending, I had issues with it. I hope it's not a habit. I just went out to go give blood, and nothing. I jumped the front leads that are supposed to let me into the vehicle to jump the car, and nothing. I'm giving it a few, and I do need to put a meter on the battery to be sure it's still 12V, but I'm pretty certain it is.

That was common on 2023 models. There was a software update that was supposed to fix it.

Ahh well, getting software updates OTA doesn't appear to be a priority at all for Ford. :(

I believe they left the sticker on because it included information on how to set the opening-hight along with info on the "hands free" option.

I think I'll go out and go use my kick feature now to make myself feel superior for having paid more for my '21 GT and lost more in depreciation.

:sniff:

Thanks for your stunning insight.
I actually did go for it and installed that item. I'm not sure I would do it again as it was kind of complex and took some time, but it works great. This unit actually seems to work better than the one that came on our Ford Escape.
If your mechanically inclined, you should be able to install it after viewing the video.

Thanks. I'm a bit more than inclined, but I'm not sure I want to spend the dough. The auto park was mentioned and I find that idea even cooler. I would love to know more about that as well and then make some decisions.

My 23 has no such sticker.
Rear kick release - delete
Auto Park -delete
Front camera washer - delete
Of those three items on my 2021 one is so slow my long deceased grandfather could park the car faster and better. The second works about 20% of the time and the other 80% gets you sideways glances from passersby’s wondering why you’re kicking your car. For the third, I’m not even aware of its existence, let alone whether it actually works.

Good riddance I say.

The two leads in the bumper allow access to the frunk only and only work when the 12v battery is dead. They do nothing to gain access to the trunk or the rest of the car.

I’ve got a 23 as well and I guess all these have their own little quirks, like my windows going up and down by themselves the other day and today the windshield wipers set on auto and kept going, there was nothing on the windshield at all not even a bug or pollen…….finally ! And I also have the trunk issue as well.
