Can anyone tell me the difference between the physical keys.
I get that we don't get PaaK and get 2 keys to compensate, but why 2 styles of keys?

(I am sure it has been covered in the 765 page long thread, but I simply haven't got time to go through all that. TIA.)

I'm in the USA and am an Electrical Engineer. My "guess" would be that UK keys are on a different radio frequency than USA keys. The frequency used is controlled by the FCC in the USA. The equivalent organization in the UK would specify the frequency in the UK.

I thought I'd seen some comment about size differences. Yours being bigger.

The US have Mustang branded keys and the UK are Ford branded keys (Fiesta / Puma). The reason appears to be that the proper Mustang keys do not meet the Thatcham requirement for UK insurance i.e. do not have a motion sensor to prevent signal booster devices enabling thieves from stealing your MME.

Does the UK fob have a frunk button? Or is that just in other parts of Europe?

At the moment you can only open the frunk from the release handle in the passenger footwell.

Understood. But the fob in some countries has a frunk button on it even though it doesn’t work yet. I guess the UK version doesn’t?

By the way, does anyone else find it weird that Ford didn’t move the manual frunk release to the right side on right hand drive cars so that it would stay on the driver’s side?

Frunk release, no not weird as Ford tend not to move it on other model i.e. S-Max and S550 Mustang.

So we in the UK don't need Faraday boxes or RFID cloaking for our keys in the house? I bought a cover for my Ford key which matches the Rapid Red of the car - neat.
