When your rear doors won't open

Both of my back doors would not open from the push button outside. There was an audible click and the door would release but neither door would push out.
Found the quick fix from some earlier posts and it's simple but mysterious.
Get the door open from outside with your finger squeezed in the corner. Get in the back seat. Close the door. Open from the inside. Close from the outside. The outside button should work now.
My back doors don't get used very often. Maybe I should open each one at least once a week ?

Probably a slight jamming or desynchronization of the lock mechanism (especially if the rear doors are rarely used).
