Whisper mode changes back to Engage

Hello everybody.

I have a question re my 2025 Premium AWD.

I prefer to use the whisper mode and have it set at that setting. Every now and then, for some reason, it has changed to the Engage mode. This does not happen all of the time; I have owned the car now for about 5.5 months, and I have experienced/noticed this about 5 or 6 times. Has anyone else had this experience and is there a fix (other than periodically checking to see what mode it is in). Many thanks

After 5 years, I have given up on my '21 and just leave it in Engage. At least it doesn't change modes now.

I've had my 2025 Premium Extended Range for 3 months now. Happened once. I attributed it to me learning the car and playing with the settings etc. Thought it was me just poking around and fat fingered something. Now I see that is maybe not the case.

It has stayed in whisper mode now for the last 5 weeks or so.

My car has stayed in "unbridle" almost all of the time, but I've seen it reset to "engage" after receiving an OTA update

The common critique you'll find here is that Ford is a good car company that creates software of questionable build quality. Tesla is the opposite.

Don't beat yourself up. As you gain time and experience here you'll find, as many have, this forum's search feature is less than - how shall I put this? - effective.

I recently bought a 2022 Premium Extended Range and realized that the car issues an error (Drive Mode Not Available) when a drive mode is selected. Then, the latest OTA update was applied a couple of weeks ago and now the drive mode buttons are completely grayed out. Love the car - The technology, not so much.

I like Unbridle mode. I had a 2021 Mach-E that would switch to Engage occasionally. I now have a 2025 Mach-E that switches daily, sometimes multiple times a day. This is a safety issue; when I see the blue dots near the speed display I go immediately to the touch screen to set it back to Unbridle (brown dots). That means taking my eyes off the road for a split second for 2 screen touches.

I can't believe Ford can't fix this. The previous poster is right: Ford makes a great solid quiet car; their software is not up to par.
