So I traded in my Select for the Star White GT. I am not really a fan of the flower wheels, but I am getting blue racing stripes on my car, but thought the wheels might look sorta cool if I got them powder coated white (or as close to star white as I can). Has anyone gotten white wheels? or powder coated them?

The aero covers are plastic so they cannot be powder coated. They would warp or melt during the curing process. You would be better off painting and clear-coating them. This would probably get you a better match to body color as well. ??

I also upgraded from a Select to a GT in Star White. :)

Your problem is that the GT flower wheels have plastic inserts which can't be powder coated per se. Personally, I'm not sure it would look good and I can't imagine how big of a pain it would be to keep white wheels clean.

Was it difficult going from the Select's unlimited full power, to your GT's 5 second power limit??

Awesome!!! I had a carbonized gray select. I sorta wondered if there would be a difference....OH YES!!! haha. I'll probably just leave the wheels alone for now, but really think white would look pretty cool. I'm getting blue racing stripes on Monday. I can't wait. I had stripes on my select and they looked cool, but they belong on the GT!

The touchupdirect.com spray paint color match is really quite good

So many people have a hate on for the GT wheels, but I really like them. I have to admit that I didn't at first, but they look so much better in person and they are very distinctive.

And I love my Start White GT!

Thanks! Yeah...I thought the same thing. I hated them, but now that I have seen them in person they aren't bad at all. I can't wait for my stripes!!! I guess I'll leave them alone for now....I did get the wheel and tire protection package....I have been known to hit a curb or 2, so probably better just to keep these. Plus, when I changed my wheels and tires on the select, it was a bumpier ride. Probably easier to leave well enough alone.

Several months ago someone posted pictures when they did it. I don't think it looked much different. I think it was @Scooby24, but I could be remembering incorrectly.

I personally don't think the loss in range is worth taking the covers off.

Depends on how you use the car, I suppose. I have way more range than I ever need, and I'm not sure I really believe that the inserts increase efficiency anyway.
