As much as I like the car, I’ve just had too many problems and software glitches with it. Just had a call from my Ford dealership for the 60k service and the auto seat adjustment is not working they can’t tell why (say it works with the fob but can’t diagnose with the PAAK), rear auto-breaking feature not working and rear trailing arms need replacing. My car is a 2001 AWD max battery - first year I bought it it flew through my garage door off a flat bed getting towed back to the dealer (it bricked) as the ford tow track driver didn’t know he should not hook into the battery frame. My dealer now wants $1k to replace the defective upper trailing arms, $500 to do an ‘audit’ to trouble shoot why the auto reverse breaking feature is not working- something I think my auto updates must have broken. I’m done with this $65k car, it’s seems it’s slowly losing all the features I bought it for due to failed software updates.

Anyone else experiencing the same? Not sure I hear Rivian owners experiencing the same.

The FOB / PaaK seat adjustment needs more info. Probably just needs the profiles & PaaK reset and re setup.

Rear auto braking? No idea. Is that the rear cross traffic warning or you’re running into things in reverse? Either sensors or skills issue. Should be easy to fix. Use the FOB if PaaK is being flakey. Not a reason to ditch a car.

Rear arms - car stuff that wears, but shouldn’t need replacing this early. Possibly damage from the next point?

Car flew off the tow - not a car issue, another skill issue.

Really sounds like you need a new dealer and get the Ford BEV team involved, if you haven’t already. These aren’t major issues and should be fixed relatively easy.

Thank you Ford BEV team? Called Ford several times. No one seems to care cause I’m ’just out of warranty’

It’s definitely not the vehicle for you. You should unload it ASAP and purchase a vehicle made by another company. It sounds like you’re interested in Rivian. I’d recommend going and checking out the Rivian forums.
Best of luck with your next car.

This is late but I just had my rear upper trailing arms replaced for free under a tsb due to a creak when accelerating from a stop. I do have the CPO warranty though so that may have played a role in covering it.

A lot of people do not realize that a TSB is just information published by the manufacture on common concerns they see and if that is the problem, how to fix that concern. The TSB does not mean that there is an extension to the warranty on that repair unless the TSB specifically says this bulletin extends the warranty to xx years or xxxxx miles.

Yes, but if it’s an item they’ll do during servicing and you don’t take the car in for servicing it won’t get done, unless you mention something slightly left of field when car goes in for servicing when you take car in for servicing it won’t get done and also those clever arses who say “ooooh, they only do a tyre rotation in a service I can get done for 5/8th of F all elsewhere or I can do myself” and “I can do the only other thing they do at service which is change the pollen filter because you only have to do this and that” whinge when the TSBs, other “soft” recalls and full inspections by an expert and other stuff don’t get done shouldn’t whinge when they do find themselves in a spot of trouble.

If the maker says service the car at these intervals, change the brake fluid at those intervals, just do it & pay for it??‍♂

$65,000 is a lot for any domestic car, any make/model. The MME would never be on my radar at that price point, regardless of the vroom factor (party trick) zero to sixty. But the lower trims are certainly bargains when there's incentives, compared to comparably equipped EVs from other manufacturers. Lesson learned? Or are you going to toss more money like this on another appliance with 4 wheels? EVs are very tech heavy, and thus very software reliant. Software is notoriously buggy, even on less sophisticated devices.

The control arm issue seems to be a known thing, and that's part of the 'Ford Quality' that underpins the MME. You can add $20,000 of stuff on top of a $45,000 base model, but it's still just a $45,000 base model vehicle with extra stuff. I'm expecting quality control issues with my MME. It's just part of the reality of this market segment.

TSB is often a quiet hidden quasi recall shifting the repair cost onto owners ! My 2021 Premium RWD Standard (Bat is less 400lbs than EX) Trailing Arms failed (under-engineered!!!) months after the lame 36 month warranty with only 30,000 miles on car. Dealer wanted $800 and said parts were special order and I had to pay shipping on top of marked up retail. I ordered online from discount dealer and my local shop put them in under an hour.

Suspension components should NOT fail so soon. If they do then there should be an extended component/labor warranty!! I do not trust FORD Sales or Service anymore! So sad.
