Oh no! Don’t tell me that Brian (Not AI) isn’t with us any more!
Still here, albeit been tied up helping folks behind the scenes, working through survey responses, in the Lightning forums too and tending to my "other job". Sorry if I've been MIA. I'm still here, promise!

Wait - you have an “other job”? AND you’ve been two-timing on us with the Lightning people?! 😀 I’m SHOCKED!

It told me my PAAK was no good anymore and required setting up again awhile ago.

Ran through the process said successful but no key detected after. Delete all phones as a key off the phones apps, reset in car, run through the setup and it says successful but no key detected with phone. Did power down, let it lock and sit for a while and then rebooted between steps but still no go. Says in car and on phone it is a key but it does not recognize it or work. Worked for 5+ years now it does not.

Iphone11 here; could that be the problem the phone is no longer supported with new paak? Do you need a passcode on the phone for it to work? I remember being instructed I need a passcode on the phone 5 years ago to get PAAK to work. I set up a passcode and then removed the code after paak was installed and working . This time no mention of a phone passcode (no passcode here). Server is really slow and not the greatest up here. Was nice but have a fob.

Good to know. Would it be better to help people on the forum through the forum and not in private as that way we can all follow and learn. You would also not need to tell people you are doing a lot behind the scenes as we could see Ford in action.

Are you looking into my PAAK problem of just passing it by?

That is possible, the iPhone 11 was released in 2019 so it's very outdated by now. You probably want to get a newer phone that supports 5G and Bluetooth 5.3 at least. I would suggest getting the iPhone 17e if you want something simpler/cheaper.

Remember the car has to be parked outside in an area with good cellular service when setting up PAAK so the car can download the required security certificates. If you are in the boonies or a concrete garage, setup may fail.

Anything on constraints on the program if no phone passcode like the original did? As noted added it a number of times each time it finishes successful each time it does not work. You would think if cell is no good it would not finish successfully.

When I got the car it worked with my iPhone 7 and I got the Iphone 11 in 2022. So my 5 year old car no longer works with my 4 year old phone? The phone is too old so I would guess so is the car ;) . If someone from Ford could actually tell people that PAAK no longer works with some current IOS Iphones and seting up an Iphone 11 is now a waste of time it would be great and could save others time. I think I will not be getting a new phone for this car.

@Ford Motor Company has been MIA, so no explanation has been forthcoming.

I just got the message, reading thru this thread, still don't see why it's required so I am wondering why I should do an update or if I HAVE to or not.

I have not updated phone app, or vehicle, for YEARS now...

The fix is pretty simple, though. You just need to get in the car with your physical key fob and start it up. That tells the vehicle it’s really you. Once it’s running, follow the prompts in the Ford app to delete the expiring Phone-as-a-Key profile.

After that’s gone, you can set up a new key right in the app. That should clear it up.
amazing, worked without a glitch w/ car "on" in garage (where it has a wifi connection to my home network). done in 2 minutes

I never got the message in my 2021. I got it earlier in the year on my 2024, then again this month. Ford glitch, I assume. 🤷‍♂️🐩
