It's offical dealerships have started taking orders for the 2022 Mach-E [see Order Guide]. I got a call and preview order from my dealer that I've been working with. The price has gone up but if this preview is right not by much. Looks like at least red is $95 more than it use to be. So far the website isn't updated and is still not taking orders (as of the time of posting)

Any word on any other prices of colors? I'm guessing the rest of the colors will be $495 insted of $400 like it was last year.

A word of advice. I would write on that sheet "no dealer add-ons or markups without customer approval" before signing it. Some dealers like to try and add 'special' dealer packages of add-ons without your approval.

A couple of the paint prices were $600 for 2021 (like Cyber Orange/Star White), they will be more for 2022.

I figured cyber orange and Grabber blue maybe more. Also, thanks for the advice on the add on's I got a quote as well that has window security etchings on it for $300 and I just have NO interest in that!

My 2021 MME Premium eAWD base MSRP is $47,600. So, it looks like it went up $3,200.

I ordered Rapid Red and the extra cost was $400.00.

The cost for the 84 kwh extended range battery for me is $7,700.

According to your invoice it appears they are going up to 91 kwh and it is costing $5,000.00 extra.

I have an order placed for a Cyber Orange GT with panoramic roof and just got a call from my dealer that they are changing all 2021 orders into 2022 orders and that cyber orange went from $600 - $795, MSRP went up $95, roof went from $1300-$1500 and they claim I can’t have panoramic glass without the Ford CoPilot360 which is an additional $1900! Has anyone else had this happen? The color, MSRP and price of roof, whatever, Fine but what the hell with the $1900 CoPilot360 option?

The base price increases, but the battery upgrades decrease. For an eAWD it is a net price that is lower for 2022 ($58400 for similarly optioned MY21, vs $57395 on that order sheet)

Intersting. Over 25 all-new EV's will be on the road by 2023, and yet somehow prices are to go down. The assumption is more EV's, more competition, more being sold, and economies of scale kick in and prices fall... I notice a $95 increase isn't much at all, but it certainly isn't a $500 YOY decrease.

I know, supply and demand and right now demand is HOT for the ME. I get it.

Moving forward, it will be new, lower-end models that will bring price parody to gas vehicles in 2-3 years, and fleets will all come down into gas price parody we are told - over and over and over again...

Yet, looking at upstream battery supply chain, reducing cobalt (absolutely necessary in efficient battery tech), is great, but raw materials for lithium-ion battery stacks is going to be stressed beyond supply, and reduce cobalt all they want - they all still need it - it's chemistry 101. And as a plethora of EV's and demand begins in earnest around the end of 2022 early 2023, prices are going to stay flat or start rising.

Now-a-days the media is great at memory-hole-ing inconvenient truths. We seem to be stuck in pie in the sky ideas that don't materialize or won't for a long, long while, yet keep spoon feeding ourselves pollyanna-like narratives.

I'll point to the autonomous vehicle claims from roughly 2010, which were: By 2020 Audi, Tesla, just about everyone would have fully, 100%, autonomous vehicles. That's right, by 2020. It's heading towards 2022 and we have a scant few vehicles that can drive alone on a highway. And when they make mistakes it's not typically a fender bender, it's more like 75mph straight into a parked semi...

Most are pointing towards 2030 for truth AI being able to handle 100% fully autonomous driving, and even more are not putting firm dates on this. Maybe it pans out to be too expensive, too many lawsuits, too much tech to fully pull off any time soon, and makers fade from this idea a bit and push to charging speeds and augmented windshield displays, etc... Who knows.

My point is clear. Forgetting past claims is frequent and new claims of xyz that don't materialize are quick to replace the last claims that don't materialize.

Low-cost EV's is such "almost there" type of thing... Supply of battery material will not be able to meet demand, and it'll slow EV adoption and keep EV's extremely high without Government buying rich people, large chunks of EV cars they buy... Who is tired of subsidizing wealthy folks to buy a Jaguar EV? Anyone?...

I think this is the only play GM and Ford might have. GM has gone all-in with EV's and as pricing does not drop, their overall sales are going to fall drastically, and in typical GM fashion, they'll run to the Feds for money or for EV vehicle subsidies to increase and hang around for - well - forever.

And once the subsidy gravy train starts, does it ever end? Historically no. And does a subsidized product ever get - truly - cheaper? No.

Bottom Line: The sales of gas parody, cheaper fleets of EV's is just around the corner. I don't see it materializing, and in 5-7 years when things might start improving in price, Toyota, Honda and Hyundai/KIA will be launching and readying gas parody hydrogen vehicles.

Thoughts?

Full autonomous driving is 20+ years away. AI still can't handle exceptions. It doesn't even build a model of the universe... it just scans and reacts. Highway driving is easy... city driving where there are constant new situations and terrible drivers making U-turns in roundabouts(I've seen this) will confuse the heck out of an AI.

I was a lowly undergrad assistant in Hinton's (father of Deep Learning) AI lab 20 years ago and the tech we have now is what they promised back then.

I do think display screens may go away. See Magic Leap's "shooting lasers into the eye to display a HUD" tech.

Extended Range battery is the same price from 2021 to 2022 at $5,000.

2021 Premium RWD = 47,600 + 2,700 for AWD = $50,300 base then add $5,000 battery = $55,300

2022 Premium AWD = $50,800 base + $5,000 battery = $55,800

From the prior 2021 price list that was posted on here:

Was that previously an option? When I ordered mine I wanted the 360 but didn't care as much about the panoramic roof. It made me get both. I just assumed you could get the panoramic roof without the 360. Otherwise, why even have them as separate items?
If you don't mind, what's your new total? Trying to decide when to do when they ask to convert my order.

Yes. I wanted the pan roof but didn’t want the 360. My order sheet originally had it that way. I still want the glass but they are saying it automatically puts the 360 option at $1900 on there.

That's dumb. I am obviously not an automaker but I don't see why they go had in hand. I wonder if those with earlier orders were able to order the 360 without the pan roof?

That was the case for all GTPE orders in 2021, if you added the Pano Roof, it automatically added the CoPilot+ (Blue Cruse) and 360 Camera. There was no option to order just the Pano Roof on the GTPE without adding the CoPilot +

Interestingly enough, if you ordered a GT (non PE) You could just add the Pano without the CoPilot.

It looks like for 2022 neither GT/GTPE orders can't have the Pano alone
