FORD INTRODUCES NEW PAAP TECHNOLOGY

"Phone As A Phone" lets Customers Easily Use Their Smartphone as a Phone

This new-to-Ford feature enhances the customer’s ability to interact with their vehicle using their compatible and authorized smartphone.

Imagine having the ability to make phone calls without touching the key fob! Phone As A Phone technology allows customers to require they have their Intelligent Access key fob in their possession in order to unlock and start their Mach-E.

Once the customer’s compatible, FordPass-established smartphone is connected to their activated FordPass Connect modem, the feature lets customers use their phone to:

• Send text messages to friends and family
• Make and watch TikTok videos
• Play Wordle
• Take photos and videos of your locked Mach-E

Here's how it works: If you don't have your Intelligent Access key fob with you, approach your Mach-E with your smart phone and press the door unlock button. Nothing will happen. You can gain access to the vehicle by entering your personal 5 digit code on the door panel. Once inside, press the "Start" button while depressing the brake pedal. A notice will appear on the display that says "No Key Detected". Then wait for the prompt to enter your personal password to start the vehicle. It won't appear. Press the "Start" button again and keep waiting. The prompt won't appear. Keep doing this over and over again until you give up.

Now, using the PAAP technology, use your smartphone to call Ford's 24/7 Assistance line and tell them that you are stranded!

People mistake it as "Phone as a FOB", it's Phone as a key. ? ?
You have to take it out of your pocket to unlock, hahaha.

Ford is working on a new technology, PAADS, to be released in the next quarter. Should you be without your key fob and your phone battery is dead, it allows you to use your phone as a door stop.

I’d be happy with PaaK as a PaaK.

With this feature the phone will open the door and act as a key to start the car. I know it’s wishful thinking, but I can dream, can’t I?

This would go well with the Full MILF-Driving* feature, which I’ve been greatly enjoying.
