For those that cycle, how do you move your bike?

Prior to getting the MME i had a F150 and it was simple with a hitch rack.

I have been putting in the back which is fine. Just not used to it. I assuming it is what you all do as well

Not sure I want to install a hitch on my MME

Thanks

I am able to fit both mine and my wife’s bikes in the back with the seat down (obviously) and the rear load floor in the lower position. The trick was to put the second bike in the reverse direction. I also throw a moving blanket over the lower bike to avoid scratches.

I decided it’s not worth dealing with a hitch. Although if we had E-bikes maybe it would be worth it due to the weight of the bikes.

I got a 2” hitch installed from U-Haul as advised by my ford sales rep. I have Kuat Sherpa 2.0 that fits well and trunk open/closes with closed bike rack without any adjustments needed. So, I have my bike rack always on unless I am moving large items that are not easy to load/unload with bike rack in the middle.

Thanks for supporting one of our locally owned businesses with your Küat rack. 😄

I just put the hitch receiver on. I often need to transport multiple people and bikes.

I just had an ecohitch installed on my '24 GT by the manufacturer (about an hour south with traffic). No charge installation thanks to attending Electrify Expo. We have two leased vehicles, and the Kia lease is very stringent so that wasn't an option. It's barely noticeable. We will put the Hollywood rack on Monday and load up our two (very) heavy e-bikes. Since the MME is closer to the ground than our previous CR-V, hopefully the bikes will be easier to load as well. We're not getting any younger!

I had a 2" hitch receiver installed at a professional hitch shop (couldn't bring myself to let U-Haul mess with my car - your U-Haul might be more proficient than mine appears). The shop used ramps to lift the car for the installation. I got the Thule Apex, which is a great rack that I can swap on and off the car in less than 3 minutes.

I got a Torklift stainless steel hitch installed. It’s more expensive than U-Haul, but it won’t rust. I use a Thule T2 Pro XTR rack for our mountain bikes. It’s the best style of rack. It’s so much easier to use and bikes don’t get scratched.

U-Haul did a tidy job installing my 2" tow hitch. It's good to find a rental center that does a lot of hitch installs. I also bought a Kuat rack suitable for heavy eBikes.

Would a 4 bike platform be to heavy for the frame of the Mach-E ? I assume yes because all I see is 2 bikes platform like.
