I was hanging out with some riff-raff today. @markboris came by the shop so I could get some pics of the new mods on his Mach-E GT and test fit some wheels. My Bronco played nice, and the GT is growing on me.

They look great!

@markboris, I promise I didn't copy your idea. Yesterday I put black vinyl over the rear lights exactly like you did. I thought my idea was original! I will post some pictures in a week or two after I get the car cleaned. We have had a bit of snow lately.

@markboris here is the proof! I think it looks so good with the black under the curve of the hatch. It removes my need to install a spoiler.

Mike, it doesn't bother me in the least. I've said it before on other threads, I don't care if anyone copies my ideas (I know you didn't) . I haven't had the time to take photos of my car and Terrance wanted to check out his new build on a Mach-E and I had a bit of time this morning so went and saw him. I took quite a few photos but looks like he posted his first so I'll just post a few of mine below.

Funny how we both had the same idea. I think we are the only two here I've seen with this rear end treatment. This is the post where I have the before and after shots of the rear end wrap #55 . It's on the taillight tint thread because I tinted the taillights in that upper section where the black gloss wrap is.

Ah! I didn't tint the tail lights like that. Mine are still stock. And I went a little higher with the black on the hatch - up over the first ridge to the second one. It looks like you stopped right at the lower ridge. One reason I did that was to cover up the gashes I made when the hatch opened without warning and hit the garage door.

I would have done the same thing if my hatch had gashes in it. You should tint the taillights as it gives it a more uniform look. I used 20% tint and the light still comes through just fine.

I would love to do this to the back of MME instead of adding a spoiler. Can you provide some instructions and link for purchasing the vinyl?

Hey Ron, I went to my local detailer and he applied the gloss black vinyl wrap in the area that I wanted. As for the taillight tint, (which I only applied to the upper half of the taillights) it was part of a kit that I bought from Anchor Room. In the kit is also has tint for all the reflectors (which I put on) and even the headlights (which I did not put on). http://www.anchor-room.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=1031&search=mach+e

Ron, I did it myself and it was the first time I have applied wrap. Since it is a small area, I figured I could take it off if I didn't do a good job. The result was good but I am sure a professional like Mark hired would do a better job.

I purchased a 5' x 1' piece of 3M 2080 G12 Gloss Black from eBay. Here is the link:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/152457074501?var=451773662972

Pretty cheap mod at $11.57 and free shipping. There is enough vinyl to do it two times. If you mess up the first time, use the other half of the vinyl. I cut about a third off the 1 foot width for the first (and only) try.

There are lots of tutorials on YouTube and on various web sites for how to apply vinyl. As I normally do (with often unreliable results) I didn't read any instructions and just did it as I thought it should be done.

I will post more pictures next weekend when I get the car washed.

BTW - my vinyl is a little higher than Mark's. Because of that, I had to put vinyl over the lights to the right and left of the hatch. I didn't do that initially but it looked funny where the black ended at the end of the hatch.

Mike I was thinking to attempt it myself since I always tint the lights and reflectors on all my cars but after talking to my detailer, he told me he would charge $100 for my liftgate wrap and I thought that was cheap enough for me not to mess with it.
