The dealer near me in Northern Virginia is telling me that Ford Options isn't available in Northern Virginia, because it is considered the "Washington DC region". Has anyone heard this? Anyone in NoVA had any luck getting Ford Options?

They are misinformed. On the Ford site it clearly calls out several States and the District of Columbia. Virginia is not on that list. It sounds like they are just another dealership that needs to do some homework. But have confidence that they are just BSing you. What Dealership?

It should only be the District if Columbia. Virginia and Maryland are not on the list where it is not available.

So long as the dealership is located in Virginia, you shouldn't have an issue, in my opinion.

Calling @hybrid2bev for clarification...

Sheehy Ford in Springfield. I have contacted a bunch of dealers in the area, and none seem to know anything about it. Most just stop talking to me. They at least kept trying to learn, but then said "because there are no Ford Dealers" in Washington DC, they consider it the DC Region.

They then told me the restriction was based on home address, not dealer address when I asked how far away from DC I would have to go for it not to be considered "DC".

I am going to keep trying other dealers.

That still does not make much sense, as the Ford site says District of Columbia and not the DC region. I would imagine Options is not offered in certain locations because of state or city laws. NOVA might act like a different state, but that last time I checked it was still part of Virginia. If you look on some other threads there is very specific information that you can provide to the dealership financing department that will help them find the correct program. Also I have a reservation with Ted Britt Ford in Fairfax and I have been communicating with them and they have not mentioned Options not being an option

Not surprised. From several other comments in the forum, many dealerships do not know what options is.

Here is the info from @hybrid2bev that can provide to the dealer that should help them find it.

Dealers can find Ford Options info here: FMCDealer » Finance » Consumer Finance Programs » Ford Options

Ford Options Rates
Announcement #: FDCI-25606

Ford Options Bonus Cash

When I pull up Fairfax County, VA I do see the Options program in the C&I grid. Have the dealer look up the info listed above, they should be able to find it. Sometimes it helps if they search by the program or announcement number. Or have them follow the path listed. The Options info there has links to everything they need.

Sales regions do not follow state lines. I know of someone who lives in OH but is close enough to fall into the Pittsburg PA region so the incentives are different than the rest of OH.

I have an order in with Ourisman Ford in Alexandria. (had one with Sheehy Ford, but they are awful and have done shady stuff in the past with a friend of mine)

My dealer sent me an email and said "There are 3 options for ownership: traditional purchase/finance, traditional lease, and a new "Ford Options" which is kind of a hybrid between the two."

So he is aware of "Ford Options"

Thanks all. I am going to keep looking around at other dealers. At least now I know it should still be theoretically possible. I will update if I learn more.

The dealer figured it out. They are able to offer Ford Options.

They sure aren't making it easy for people to use this particular financing option.

Thanks for all the help here folks!

Glad you got this sorted.

This is a new concept so unsurprising there are some misunderstandings. Also some of the communications from Ford (actually one to be honest) was quite misleading IMO, which likely hasn't helped.
