The dealer should process the turn-in just like a lease turn-in. Ford Credit doesn’t arrange the turn-in, it needs to be coordinated by the dealer. So the dealer staff can be available to help with the turn-in and get the customer to sign the documents. The dealer then processes the termination which notifies Ford Credit to start the backend processes.
I just got off the phone with Ford Credit. She verified my final payment date and when I had to turn the car in. She confirmed what you said. She said to contact a dealer and arrange an appointment to return the car with them.

Just for Information's sake, I was able to turn my car in on 3/7/25 and as of today i haven't heard anything from Ford regarding it. I did however received an email survey to rate my Mach-E ownership experience.

This will be our Second Options Turn In. First was First Edition and the dealer literally learned the process on ours. We bought a 22 GTPE and saved the $2.2k in sales tax. We ordered a 25 GT and will do the same. The Options buy-back is far above Market value but the 25 GT isn't $72k either. We absolutely love one EV and the GT is an absolute blast. If I lived in the dessert, would be a Rally, but can't do that on the beaches of Destin.

I've been getting trade in quotes from the usual suspects, CarMax, Carvana, and recently Rivian. All are coming in $2,000-$2,500 more than my options balloon. I'll be buying out mine then trading it in.

That's great. I think the GTPE takes a bigger hit as it was a $72k MSRP, which really was 64,500 with the EV Tax credit then. I will keep an eye on Max And Vana to see what their price is. TY

Just curious. What would make Rally less suitable for you location than GT? Considering that Rally is essentially a GT with a slight lift.

I would want to be around dirt trails and washboard surfaces with curves and absolutely be spraying that into my paint protected Rally with sand shooting out like a Wave runner blasting through water! It would be an absolute blast. Out west they have some great fire roads or mountain access roads that would be ridiculously fun. The lift and all of the fantastic things that come with the Rally I just can't exploit as easily in the city. Can't go wrong with either one. If I was back in New Mexico or Arizona, the Rally would be in the garage for sure.

For the benefit of others reading, I just got a quote from Carvana and am waiting on the quote to come back from Carmax. I am due to return my car June 1 (2 payments left) but I'm ready to get into a new car next week so I was trying to dispose of my car early. A Ford dealership offered $5K under my balance with balloon and last 2 payments so that's a no go. Carvana just offered me $500 under my balance. We have to pay a $500 disposition fee when we return the car so this is perfect for me. I just have to give Carvana a cashiers check for $500 to make up the difference between their offer and my current payoff and it's good to go.

I installed a hitch on my mach e. I also have an options contract nearing it's end. Anyone have any issue returning with a hitch installed? I've only used it for bike racks
