I got in my 2025 today and immediately noticed that all of the chimes/alert sounds are different from the day before. I'm low on windshield washer fluid, so I noticed this right when I turned the car on. It doesn't show I got a software update overnight and I don't see any posts about it here.

Anyone else notice this? Can't say that I love the new sounds.

Maybe time for a new 12v battery.

Or, if it’s fairly new, try disconnecting the 12v and reconnecting. There is some default sound mode that results in different alert sounds. Had it happen once a long time ago. Resetting fixed it.

Or make sure it’s charged.

In the past I’ve had the car go into those default ā€œ1980s computerā€ basic sounds when the 12v was low.

For the OP (any everyone who ever posts a thread about a sound), please take a video so we can hear what you hear.

It’s pretty hard to tell you if a sound is normal if we can’t hear the sound. šŸ˜‰

Videos below. The HV battery was at 40% or so and it's not like the car had been sitting for an extended period; it gets used daily so I would be surprised if the 12v was low. I had a 2022 for three years and never had a 12v issue with it and we're using this one in the same way.

I had new chime and alert sounds happen a couple days ago for a single drive. At the same time, the display was behaving like an update had just occurred (kinda sluggish and slowly bringing stuff online).

The alert sounds have switched to the instrument panel cluster speaker either because the DSP module (which plays the sounds through the speakers) is offline or not responding, or because the 12V battery is low and the car is in load shed. Shutting the car off for 10 minutes will probably fix it.

It’s not a new chime, it’s a fallback feature in case the radio/speakers aren’t operating.

Interesting. I don’t have that version of Bluecruise so I couldn’t tell you if those are normal or not. Definitely sounds a bit ā€œ1980sā€ like the sounds I hear when the normal sounds aren’t working though after a low 12v.

It should go back to normal the next drive or the next day.
