Good afternoon from Indiana. I purchased a 2022 GT on October 14th; 14,700 miles, AWD, Extended Range Battery. Love the car. Greatly appreciate this Forum with so many ideas. Thanks to participants.

This is my second thread contribution, so please excuse formatting you'd prefer I use. I'm learning!

I just proactively replaced my 38 month old 12V battery yesterday. Have NOT had any problem with it, but reading many thoughts in this Forum led me to replace it, to regain new 36 month warranty and Ford service protection if ever needed. Took less than a hour at Don Hinds Ford in Fishers, Indiana, $191.78 total cost. Service writer with whom I've had several conversations since my purchase, along with other conversations with a Don Hinds sales gent who is the sales staff guru for Mach-Es, are very helpful and willing additional sources of counsel as I get smart.

This was a really helpful "peace of mind" action that I read about in this Forum. Thanks!

Smart. That’s the best approach. $192 is not a bad price to pay.

However, at that relatively low price for parts and labor, I doubt the mechanic reset the BMS, Battery Management System. Check the dealer to find out if an EV certified tech oversaw the job OR do it yourself. MachLee somewhere in this forum gives instructions on resetting the BMS on your own. Been there, done that.

Thanks for your read and recommendation. I asked about the BMS reset and it was done, and the Ford tech was EV certified, per statement from my service writer. Built into the cost of job AND the paperwork receipt that I was told to keep in the glove box with registration if ever needed. Again, this Forum has so many good conversations, I knew to ask the reset question. Thanks to all who share ideas and insights.

That's a great price for the little fellow + labor, however my 53 month old 12v is original and continues to display healthy stats. I might break down and replace it before my February '26 road trip to W.NY. before anything negative comes along. 🤞

I recently got a warning in the Ford app saying my LVB should be checked. Just wondering what the 'healthy stats' you refer to are, I only see the voltage and SoC for the LVB when I poke around with FORScan Lite.

So because someone didn’t get ripped off you automatically assume a tech didn’t do something that is easily done with a 20 second command?

I use the Android App Car Scanner that pulls the following real-time variables:
12v batt Voltage
12v batt SOC
12v batt Quiescent
12v batt Current in Amps over 1 min

While this info doesn't guarantee continuous service going forward, it is a solid metric for trend analysis. I will definitely rely on the Ford App early warning when seen to take action.

The BMS keeps track of the 12v battery capacity as it degrades. I expect that when capacity falls to a set level, it will issue this warning.
Has anyone come across this parameter in OBD2 or Forscan? I have not found it yet. It would be similar to SOH we see on the HVB.

Correct, based on degraded amp-hour capacity.

There is no parameter you can see for it.

If that is the the case I can go back and keep looking for the displayed range or distance to empty parameter.
